1,058. Making an Eiruv Tavshilin for Others
Shvisas Yom Tov 6:7
It is not necessary to notify others before yom tov when granting them a share in one’s eiruv tavshilin. They must, however, be aware that someone has granted them such a share in an eiruv before relying on it to cook and bake. Even if they were not made aware of it until yom tov, they are permitted to rely on the eiruv. One may make an eiruv on behalf of all the residents of a city and everyone within its yom tov boundary. He may announce on yom tov that anyone who did not make an eiruv tavshilin may rely on his.
Shvisas Yom Tov 6:8
When making an eiruv tavshilin, one recites the bracha that God has commanded us regarding the mitzvah of eiruv. One then says, “With this eiruv, I will be permitted to bake and cook on yom tov for Shabbos.” If he intends to include others in his eiruv, he specifies that it permits “me, and so-and-so, and so-and-so” (naming the others) or “all the residents of this city” to bake and cook on yom tov for Shabbos.
