1,050. The Yom Tov Boundary for Animals and Food
Shvisas Yom Tov 5:11
If someone entrusts an animal to his son, the animal’s yom tov boundary follows that of the father. If he entrusts it to a shepherd, even if he hands it over on yom tov, the animal’s boundary follows that of the shepherd. If he entrusts it to two shepherds, its boundary follows that of its owner because neither shepherd has acquired the animal.
Shvisas Yom Tov 5:12
If a person invites guests on yom tov, they may not transport the food they are given to a place where their host cannot go because the yom tov boundary of the food follows that of the host and not those of the guests. This is not the case if the host grants the guests their portions as a gift through a third party before yom tov begins.
