1,043. Not Discussing One's Bill
Shvisas Yom Tov 4:23
One is permitted to take a specific number of eggs or nuts from a shopkeeper. The same is true for other merchandise so long as one does not discuss money or his bill. An example of “discussing the bill” is when a person already owes the merchant for ten pomegranates or ten nuts, he may not say on yom tov, "Give me ten more so that I will owe you for 20." Rather, one takes without any discussion and they make appropriate calculations after yom tov.
Shvisas Yom Tov 4:24
On yom tov, one may approach a shopkeeper, a shepherd or one who raises animals with whom he regularly does business and take an animal, bird or anything else he needs. This is allowed so long as he does not discuss money or his bill.
