1,022. Animals on Yom Tov

Shvisas Yom Tov 2:16

If an animal dies on yom tov, if it was dangerously ill on the day before, it may be cut up and fed to dogs. If not, then since the owner didn’t have it in mind, it is muktzeh and may not be handled. If a consecrated animal dies or terumah is rendered ritually unclean on yom tov, it may not be handled.

Shvisas Yom Tov 2:17

Fish, birds and animals that are muktzeh may not be fed or watered on yom tov out of the concern that one may come to take them. Anything that may not be eaten or used on yom tov because it is muktzeh may also not be transported.
