940. Close Relatives Who Share a Courtyard
Eiruvin 4:4
If five people gather food for an eiruv with the intention that they will bring it to the place where the eiruv will be made, it is not necessary for all of them to deliver the bread; all that is needed is one loaf. Since the food for the eiruv was gathered, the residents are all considered members of a single household.
Eiruvin 4:5
If a father and son, or a teacher and student, live in the same courtyard, they do not have to make an eiruv because they are considered a single household even though they sometimes eat together and other times eat separately.
