794. More Forms of Extraction
Shabbos 21:14
One may remove grain from the husk in an unusual fashion so that it does not look like he is extracting. One is not liable for sucking milk from an animal and if he is groaning in pain, it is outright permissible. Since he is extracting in an abnormal manner, plus the fact that he is in pain, the Sages did not prohibit this, even for one who is in no medical danger.
Shabbos 21:15
If liquid flows from olives or grapes on Shabbos, one may not partake of the liquid until after Shabbos. This is a preventive measure out of concern that one may intentionally squeeze the fruit on Shabbos. In the case of berries and pomegranates, if one takes them to eat, the juices that flow from them are permitted. If he takes them to press for their juice, the liquids that flow from them are forbidden until after Shabbos.
