Psalms - Chapter 124
Baruch Hashem!
David says that if it hadn’t been for G-d, we’d have been swallowed whole when our enemies rose up against us. (The Talmud in Megilla says this refers to Haman because it says “adam” – a common person, as opposed to a king.)
When the anger of other nations was directed at us, it would have washed us away like the waters of a flood. We would have been overcome by waters of evil. Blessed be G-d (“Baruch Hashem!”) who did not let us become their prey; instead, we escaped like a bird from a trap.
Our help comes from G-d, Who made Heaven and Earth.
