692. Putting Into or Taking Out of Another Person's Hand

Shabbos 13:6

The rule that neither party is liable if one person picks an object up and places it in the other’s hand is only when the hand is more than three handbreadths above the ground (about nine inches). If the hand is closer than three handbreadths to above the ground, it is the same as to placing the object on the ground, for which he would be liable.

Shabbos 13:7

If a person stands in one type of domain (public or private) and his friend extends his hand from the other type of domain, takes an object from the person in the first domain and brings it into his own domain, or he takes an object from his domain and puts it in the hand of the person in the first domain, the person who is standing is not liable because he did nothing at all. The friend was the one who put the object in his hand or took it from his hand, so the friend is liable for removing an object from its place and putting it down elsewhere.
