560. Circumcising Servants
Milah 1:3
A master is obligated to circumcise both servants who are born the property of Jewish owners and those purchased from non-Jews. Those born into a Jewish home are circumcised on the eighth day, while those purchased are circumcised on the day of the sale. Even if he was purchased on the day he was born, he is circumcised on that day.
Milah 1:4
Some purchased servants are circumcised on the eighth day and some born into the household are circumcised on the day they are born, as follows: If a person purchases a maidservant and he separately purchases her unborn child, the baby is to be circumcised on the eighth day. Even though it was a separate transaction, the mother being purchased before the child was even born, such a child is circumcised on the eighth day.
