529. Things That Take Shehakol

Brachos 8:8

Shehakol is recited over bread that became moldy, wine that developed a film, food that has spoiled, unripe fruit, beer, vinegar, locusts, salt, truffles and mushrooms. Whenever shehakol is recited before eating something, Borei nefashos is recited after it. Whenever a food requires a bracha after eating it, it also requires a bracha before eating it.

Brachos 8:9

If one pours three parts water over dregs, which results in four parts of a beverage, the bracha is Borei pri hagafen because it is considered diluted wine. If the result is less than four parts of a beverage, the bracha is shehakol even if the beverage tastes like wine.
