472. The Text of Brachos
Brachos 1:5
The text of all brachos was instituted by Ezra and his court. It is not appropriate to add to, detract from, or change the text of a bracha in any way. Whoever changes the text of a bracha from the prescribed text does so in error. If a bracha does not include God's Name and a reference to Him as King, it is no bracha at all unless it is juxtaposed to another bracha that fulfills these requirements.
Brachos 1:6
Brachos may be recited in any language that one understands so long as they approximate the text instituted the Sages. One who alters the text of a bracha still fulfills his obligation if he mentioned God's Name, His role as King, and the theme of the bracha, even if one did this using regular conversation.
