469. Must One Wear Tzitzis?

Tzitzis 3:11

Even though one is not required to buy a garment and wear it in order to attach tzitzis to it, it is not proper for a person to excuse himself from performing this mitzvah. One should always try to be wear a garment that requires tzitzis in order to fulfill this mitzvah. This is especially true during prayer; it is disgraceful for a scholar to daven without tzitzis.

Tzitzis 3:12

One should always be careful with the mitzvah of tzitzis because the Torah equates it to all the mitzvos and treats them as dependent on it, as per Numbers 15:39, “you shall see them and remember all the mitzvos of God.”
