Sheviis 6:4-5
Sheviis 6:4
In the eighth year, one may purchase vegetables once the type one is buying has ripened (so that we can assume that it is produce of the eighth year). If this type of produce ripened quickly in one area, one may still buy from an area where it ripens later. R. Yehuda HaNasi permitted purchasing vegetables immediately upon the conclusion of the sabbatical year.
Sheviis 6:5
Oil of terumah (tithes) that has been rendered impure must be burned. Neither this oil nor produce of the sabbatical year may be taken from Israel to outside Israel. Rabbi Shimon reported that he heard that they may be brought to Syria (land annexed to Israel by King David) but not outside Israel.
