341. Minimums for Public Torah Reading

Tefillah u’Birkas Kohanim 12:3

The public Torah-reading is never held in the presence of fewer than ten adult males, and no fewer than ten verses are read. “G-d spoke to Moshe, saying…” is counted as one of the verses. No fewer than three men should be called to the Torah, reading at least three verses each. The reader should read at least three verses into a section and not conclude closer than three verses to the end of the section.

Tefillah u’Birkas Kohanim 12:4

When three people read a total of ten verses, two read three verses each and one reads four. It makes no difference whether the extra verse ends up in the first, last, or middle aliyah.
