340. Reading the Torah

Tefillah u’Birkas Kohanim 12:1

Moses established that the Torah be read publicly on Shabbos, and on Monday and Thursday mornings, so that three days would never pass without hearing the Torah. Ezra added that the Torah should also be read during mincha on Shabbos for the sake of vendors, who would miss it during the week. He also established that three people should be called to the Torah on Mondays and Thursdays and that no fewer than ten verses be read.

Tefillah u’Birkas Kohanim 12:2

The Torah is read publicly on Shabbos, yom tov, Rosh Chodesh, fast days, Chanukah, Purim, and every Monday and Thursday. The haftarah is only read on Shabbos, yom tov and Tisha b'Av.
