It is so comforting to know that there is Someone looking out for us all the time. He knows our needs and wants. He has the ability to help us with everything. When we do receive the help we need, it is because of His loving kindness. Even if we do not receive the help we want, it is also because of His loving kindness. He decided that at this moment it would be in our best interest not to receive what we desire. However, the knowledge that we could be helped at any moment gives us chizuk for the future.

I received an email from a woman who was struggling financially. She said she listens to Daily Emunah and hears stories about people who received the money they needed exactly at the right moment, whether it was someone who got repaid $20,000 from a long forgotten loan or someone who received a check for thousands of dollars from their homeowners insurance because of an overpayment. However, she said, "What about me? I never loaned anyone money; I never overpaid for anything. I don't deal in large amounts of money. We just try to make ends meet and hope no unexpected expenses come our way. What means could Hashem use to send me money when I need it?"

These thoughts came to her at a time when she had to use up her entire savings to pay for a Bar Mitzva and did not have even one extra dollar to spend. She accidentally damaged someone's car and had to pay $300 to cover the repairs. While it might sound like a small amount, it was daunting sum for someone who did not have it. She had no idea how to get it, but she knew she had to pray.  Hashem showed her how He could take care of her, even when she couldn't figure out the way.

Out of nowhere, her childhood friend came from out of town to visit. As she was leaving, she handed her an envelope, saying that it was a small token of appreciation from her mother for something her family had helped her with over twenty years ago. After she left, she opened the envelope and found $300. She thanked Hashem and went to pay the people whose car she hit. She told them the story of how she got the money with Hashgachat Hashem.

A few months later, her two oldest boys were asking her for bicycles. The weather was becoming nice and all their friends were riding, except for them. She apologized that she just couldn't afford it now. Then she said, "I wanted to pray to Hashem to help me. Initially, I felt it was too trivial to ask Hashem for bicycles. Then I remembered learning that nothing is too small to ask Hashem for. He wants us to come to Him for everything. So I prayed very hard for Hashem to help." A few hours later, she received a phone call from the man whose car she had hit a few months earlier. He told her that he had just told his father the story of how she got the money to pay, and he was very impressed by the Hashgacha. He wanted to give her the money back as a Bar Mitzva present. He sent her a check for $300, which she used to purchase two new bicycles.

Shortly afterwards, she was with her client to whom she gives speech therapy. The client shared with her some of her problems. She gave the client Chizuk, saying that Hashem could always help. She used the story of the bicycles as an example. The woman appreciated the Chizuk and said, "You only received bicycles for your oldest children; you need bikes for all your kids. Do you know that I give away bicycles all the time? My husband works for the township, and he is always collecting bicycles in great condition." Just like that, the woman had bicycles for all of her children.

On the same day I received this email, another woman told me that her daughter was getting ready to come home from seminary in Israel for Pesach. She and all of her friends would be leaving on the same day. However, there was one girl whose parents couldn't afford to send her home. She was going to have to stay in Israel with a family that she didn't really know. She was crying, and all of her friends felt bad. A couple of days before the girls left, a woman walked into the seminary, asking whether there was anyone who wants a round trip ticket to fly home for Pesach. She had infant twins and needed a helping hand on the flight back and forth. The seminary girl jumped at the opportunity, and just like that, Hashem brought her home for Pesach.

Hashem could always help us with our needs-big and small. When we can't figure out the solution, He can. We are so fortunate that Hashem is here for us, all of the time.
