32. Writing Partial Names of God

Yesodei HaTorah 6:4

If one writes the letters alef and lamed of the Name “Elohim” or the letters yud and hei of the Name YHVH, they may not be erased because they are Names of God on their own. If one writes the letters shin and daled of the Name “Shaddai,” or the letters tzaddi and the beis of the Name “Tz'vaos,” they are not in themselves Names of God and they may be erased.

Yesodei HaTorah 6:5

Other terms by which we describe and praise God include: the Gracious One, the Merciful One, the Great One, the Mighty One, the Awe-Inspiring One, the Reliable One, the Jealous One, the Powerful One, and similar such expressions. These are like other holy writings and they may be erased.
