3,957. The Breeches

Hilchos Klei HaMikdash 8:17

The tunic hung to a little above the heel. The sleeves extended to the wrists and were as wide as a hand.

Hilchos Klei HaMikdash 8:18

The breeches of both the Kohein Gadol and a regular kohein extended from the solar plexus to the thighs, meaning from above the umbilicus, near the heart, until the end of the thigh, which is the knee. The breeches had straps to tighten them, but they didn’t have openings to allow waste removal in the front or back. Rather, they surrounded the body as if it were in a pocket.
