#247: Sucking Fruit
1. The Rema (O.C. 320:1) mentions two opinions concerning whether one may suck juice from a fruit one holds next to one’s mouth. The halacha is that one should try to avoid this for grapes, since we learned previously that squeezing grapes is forbidden biblically, but this is permitted for other fruits (Mishnah Berurah 320:12; Yalkut Yosef 320:10).
2. All agree that one may suck juice from a fruit if the fruit is already inside one’s mouth, since this is no longer classified as squeezing (Mishnah Berurah 320:12).
