208:2 The restrictions on work are as follows: for the first three days, the mourner may not work even if he has no money and must rely on charity to eat. From the fourth day on, if he is a needy person with nothing to eat, he may work privately in his home. Similarly, a woman may work privately in her home in order to earn a living. However, the Sages said, may poverty befall neighbors whose indifference forces him to work because they are responsible to provide for a needy person, especially when he's in mourning
208:3 A mourner is not permitted to have his work performed by others, not even by a non-Jew. If the work is pressing and the mourner may come to a loss, he should consult a Torah scholar.
