1,268. A Funeral vs. a Bris

196:16 If an onen has a son to be circumcised, if possible, he should bury the deceased before the congregation leaves the shul in the morning. Those digging the grave should daven before they bury the deceased. After the burial, the baby should be circumcised. If this is not possible, they should circumcise the baby in the morning at shul. The sandek (the one who holds the baby) recites the brachos. This arrangement is because when there is a burial and a bris, the bris takes precedence.

196:17 One who is an onen on the eve of 14 Nisan should appoint an agent to search for chometz for him. The onen should personally recite the paragraph Kol Chamira (annulling his chometz).
