1,266. If Someone Dies on Yom Tov

196:12 If the deceased passed on Friday afternoon before Mincha so that it's impossible to bury him before Shabbos, the onen may also daven Mincha before Shabbos.

196:13 If the deceased passed away on the first day of yom tov, if the surviving relative wants to have a non-Jew bury him on that day, then the status of an onen applies to him immediately. Even more so, if the deceased passed away on the second day of yom tov, when the relative can bury him by himself, the status of an onen applies to him immediately, even if he chooses not to bury the deceased on that day.
