1,205. Benefiting from Stolen Goods

182:9 It is prohibited to derive even the smallest benefit from a stolen article the entire time it's in the possession of the thief. Even if the benefit is so small that the rightful owner wouldn't be bothered by it, such as changing money with stolen money of equal value, nevertheless, it is prohibited. Similarly, one may not enter a house that was stolen in order to get out of the sun or rain, or pass through a field that was stolen.

182:10 Therefore, if someone is well-known to be a thief or robber with no other occupation so that all his income is assumed to be from stealing, one may not derive any benefit from him. It is even forbidden for a needy person to accept charity from him.
