3,640. Making a Dough Then Converting to Judaism

Hilchos Bikkurim 7:7

Let’s say that there were two doughs, each smaller than the requisite volume for taking challah, and challah was taken from each of them. Later, these two doughs touched and combined to a volume requiring that challah be taken. In such a case, one must take challah from the combined dough because the challah taken previously was ineffective.

Hilchos Bikkurim 7:8

Let’s say that two non-Jews made a dough of the requisite volume for taking challah and they divided it. They subsequently converted to Judaism, after which each added to his share of the dough until it reached the requisite volume. In such a case, they must take challah. This is because the dough was never a size requiring that challah be taken while they were non-Jewish because each had received a portion smaller than that.
