Parah 7:5-6

Parah 7:5

If a person draws water for his own use and for the sanctification water, he must draw for himself first, attach the bucket to the pole, and then draw the water for sanctification. If he first drew the water for sanctification and then the water for himself, it is invalid. He must carry his own water behind him and the water for sanctification in front of him (in order to guard it); if he carried the water for sanctification behind him, it is invalid. If both buckets were for sanctification, then he may put one in front of him and one behind him and both are valid because he has no alternative.

Parah 7:6

Regarding the rope tied to the bucket when collecting the water, if one carries it in his hand on the way, the water is valid; if he detoured, the water is invalid. This question was sent to the Sanhedrin in Yavneh on three Festivals; on the third occasion, they ruled the water valid because of extenuating circumstances.
