161:2 Mucus on the outside of the eye is an interposition (chatzitzah) even when it's moist. Mucus in the eye is not a chatzitzah when moist but it is when dry.

161:3 Dried blood on a wound is a chatzitzah but the lymph fluid that is inside it isn't. If this fluid comes out, it is not a chatzitzah when moist but it is when dry.  Therefore, a woman with sores must soak them with water until they soften. Similarly, the scab on a wound must be removed or softened well with water.
