3,286. A Kohein Without Full Faculties

Terumos 7:5

A kohein who has congenital deafness or who lacks mental capacity may be immersed in a mikvah and fed terumah after nightfall. Such a person is watched to ensure that they don’t sleep after the immersion; if they sleep, they are considered ritually unclean out of concern that they may have had a seminal emission. This is not the case if a copper receptacle is used to detect such an emission.

Terumos 7:6

Camel-riders may not eat terumah until they immerse and wait for nightfall. This is based on the presumption that such people are ritually unclean because the physical stimulation of riding on a camel can generate a seminal drop.
