3,269. Taking Demai as Terumah

Terumos 5:16

If one takes terumah from produce that grew in the ground for produce that grew in a perforated pot, or vice versa, what he took is valid terumah. If he takes terumah from produce grown in an unperforated pot for produce grown in a perforated pot, what he separated is terumah, but he must take terumah again in order to fulfill the obligation. If he takes terumah from produce grown in a perforated pot for produce grown in an unperforated pot, what he separated is terumah, but the kohein may not eat it until the one who grew it takes terumah and maaser for it from other produce.

Terumos 5:17

If someone separates terumah from doubtfully tithed produce (demai) for other demai produce, or from demai produce for produce that we know is untithed, what he separates is valid terumah but he must take terumah again for each type on its own. If he takes terumah from produce that we know was untithed for demai produce, what he separated is terumah, but the kohein may not eat it until the one who grew it takes terumah and maaser for it.
