3,256. The Terumah of a Thief

Terumos 4:11

If one acquires produce through theft, coercion or intimidation and then he separates terumah, what he has separated is valid terumah. If the rightful owner is pursuing the thief, then what he separated is not terumah.

Terumos 4:12

The landowner’s son, his hired hand, his servant and his wife should separate terumah for what they eat but not for the whole crop. This is because one doesn’t take terumah for produce that’s not his own property. If a son eats food from his father or a woman makes dough with her husband's produce, they can take terumah because they have permission to do so.
