3,255. Canceling an Agent
Terumos 4:9
Let’s say that a person told his partner, a member of his household or his servant to separate terumah for him. They went to do so, but he canceled their status as his agent before they performed the task. If the agent didn’t deviate from the directions they were given, then what they separated is terumah. If they deviated from their directions, such as by taking from the south side when they were told to take from the north side, then since the owner canceled them as an agent, what they separated isn’t terumah.
Terumos 4:10
Let’s say that a sharecropper separated terumah but the landowner for whom he works objects. If the landowner objects before the sharecropper finishes separating the terumah, what he separated isn’t terumah. If the landowner objects after the sharecropper has finished, then what he separated is terumah. The guardians of orphans may separate terumah for their wards.
