3,247. Taking Terumah From a Single Location

Terumos 3:17

Terumah gedolah is only taken from produce in the same location. Therefore, if someone had fifty seah of produce in one building and another fifty seah of produce in another building, he may not take two seah from one building for the whole 100 seah, as this would constitute separating from one location for produce in another location. However, if one did do so, what he separated is valid terumah gedolah so long as the produce he separated is guarded. However, if he had barrels of oil or wine that he saw were breaking and he declared them to be terumah for the produce in his house, his statement is ineffective.

Terumos 3:18

If produce is scattered throughout a building or if there are two granaries in the same building, terumah may be separated from one for everything. If sacks of grain, cakes of dried figs or barrels of figs are in the same location, one can separate from one of them for all of them. As far as barrels of wine, one may separate terumah from one of them for all of them until their lids are sealed; once they have been sealed, he must take terumah from each one separately.
