3,113. Connecting Wool and Linen with a Single Pass of the Needle

Hilchos Kilayim 10:24

If someone attaches a wool garment to a linen garment with one pass of the needle, they aren’t considered connected and therefore they’re not shaatnez. If he tied the two ends of the thread together or attached the garments with two passes of the needle, then they’re shaatnez.

Hilchos Kilayim 10:25

One may make funeral shrouds of shaatnez because the deceased aren’t obligated in mitzvos. A donkey’s saddle blanket may be made of shaatnez and one may sit on it so long as his skin doesn’t touch it. One may not put such a saddle blanket on his shoulder, even to take out the trash.
