3,100. Sitting in a Wagon Pulled by Different Species

Hilchos Kilayim 9:9

If a wagon is being drawn by two different species, sitting in the wagon renders one liable to lashes even if he didn’t lead the animals. This is because his sitting there makes the animals pull the wagon. Similarly, if one person is sitting in a wagon and another person is leading the animals, both are liable to lashes. This is true even if 100 people lead a team of mixed species together: all of them are liable to lashes.

Hilchos Kilayim 9:10

One may work a person together with a domesticated or wild animal. For example, one may a plow together with an ox or pull a wagon together with a donkey, etc. This is because the Torah says “an ox and a donkey together” (Deut. 22:10) – it doesn’t say anything about a human with a donkey or an ox.
