Deuteronomy 32:3
כִּי שֵׁם ה’ אֶקְרָא הָבוּ גֹדֶל לֵאלֹקינוּ
When I proclaim the Name of Hashem, ascribe greatness to our G-d.
This verse is recited before the Amidah only at micha and musaf; for shacharis and maariv, it would be considered an interruption between the bracha of geulah (redemption) and the Amidah. The Tur (Orach Chaim 124) says that he learned to say “Baruch Hu u’Baruch Shmo” (“Blessed is He and Blessed is His Name”) from his father, based upon this verse.
