3,042. Distancing Different Species

Hilchos Kilayim 3:6

Pursuant to the previous halacha, turnip and radish are not kilayim with one another because of the similarity of their fruits. Turnip and “nafos” (another kind of radish) are not kilayim with one another because of the similarity of their fruits. Radishes and “nafos” are kilayim with one another even though their fruits and their leaves are similar, because the taste of their fruits are very different from one another.

Hilchos Kilayim 3:7

In order to not be kilayim, it is necessary to separate between two species of plant enough so that they will be visibly distinct. If they appear to have been planted together, it is prohibited.
