(יא) כִּ֚י הַמִּצְוָ֣ה הַזֹּ֔את אֲשֶׁ֛ר אָנֹכִ֥י מְצַוְּךָ֖ הַיּ֑וֹם לֹא־נִפְלֵ֥את הִוא֙ מִמְּךָ֔ וְלֹ֥א רְחֹקָ֖ה הִֽוא׃ (יב) לֹ֥א בַשָּׁמַ֖יִם הִ֑וא לֵאמֹ֗ר מִ֣י יַעֲלֶה־לָּ֤נוּ הַשָּׁמַ֙יְמָה֙ וְיִקָּחֶ֣הָ לָּ֔נוּ וְיַשְׁמִעֵ֥נוּ אֹתָ֖הּ וְנַעֲשֶֽׂנָּה׃ (יג) וְלֹא־מֵעֵ֥בֶר לַיָּ֖ם הִ֑וא לֵאמֹ֗ר מִ֣י יַעֲבׇר־לָ֜נוּ אֶל־עֵ֤בֶר הַיָּם֙ וְיִקָּחֶ֣הָ לָּ֔נוּ וְיַשְׁמִעֵ֥נוּ אֹתָ֖הּ וְנַעֲשֶֽׂנָּה׃ (יד) כִּֽי־קָר֥וֹב אֵלֶ֛יךָ הַדָּבָ֖ר מְאֹ֑ד בְּפִ֥יךָ וּבִֽלְבָבְךָ֖ לַעֲשֹׂתֽוֹ׃ {ס}
(יא) אֲרֵי תַּפְקֶדְתָּא הָדָא דִּי אֲנָא מְפַקְּדָךְ יוֹמָא דֵין לָא מַפְרְשָׁא הִיא מִנָּךְ וְלָא רְחִיקָא הִיא: (יב) לָא בִשְׁמַיָּא הִיא לְמֵימָר מָן יִסַּק לָנָא לִשְׁמַיָּא וְיִסְּבַהּ לָנָא וְיַשְׁמְעִנָּנָא יָתַהּ וְנַעְבְּדִנַּהּ: (יג) וְלָא מֵעִבְרָא לְיַמָּא הִיא לְמֵימַר מָן יֵעִבַר לָנָא לְעִבְרָא דְיַמָּא וְיִסְּבַהּ לָנָא וְיַשְׁמְעִנָּנָא יָתַהּ וְנַעְבְּדִנַּהּ: (יד) אֲרֵי קָרִיב לָךְ פִּתְגָּמָא לַחֲדָא בְּפוּמָךְ וּבְלִבָּךְ לְמֶעְבְּדֵיהּ:
11. Because this commandment that I command you today, it is not separated[1] from you, and it is not far. 12. It is not in the heavens, (that you should) say, ‘Who will ascend for us to the heavens and get it for us, and cause us to hear it (so that) we may perform it?’ 13. And it is not on the other side of the sea (that you should) say, ‘Who will cross for us to the other side of the sea and get it for us, and cause us to hear it (so that) we may perform it?’ 14. Because the matter is very close to you, in your mouth and in your heart, to perform it.
