(כג) וָאֶתְחַנַּ֖ן אֶל־יְהֹוָ֑ה בָּעֵ֥ת הַהִ֖וא לֵאמֹֽר׃ (כד) אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֗ה אַתָּ֤ה הַֽחִלּ֙וֹתָ֙ לְהַרְא֣וֹת אֶֽת־עַבְדְּךָ֔ אֶ֨ת־גׇּדְלְךָ֔ וְאֶת־יָדְךָ֖ הַחֲזָקָ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר מִי־אֵל֙ בַּשָּׁמַ֣יִם וּבָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה כְמַעֲשֶׂ֖יךָ וְכִגְבוּרֹתֶֽךָ׃ (כה) אֶעְבְּרָה־נָּ֗א וְאֶרְאֶה֙ אֶת־הָאָ֣רֶץ הַטּוֹבָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּעֵ֣בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן הָהָ֥ר הַטּ֛וֹב הַזֶּ֖ה וְהַלְּבָנֹֽן׃ (כו) וַיִּתְעַבֵּ֨ר יְהֹוָ֥ה בִּי֙ לְמַ֣עַנְכֶ֔ם וְלֹ֥א שָׁמַ֖ע אֵלָ֑י וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֤ה אֵלַי֙ רַב־לָ֔ךְ אַל־תּ֗וֹסֶף דַּבֵּ֥ר אֵלַ֛י ע֖וֹד בַּדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּֽה׃ (כז) עֲלֵ֣ה ׀ רֹ֣אשׁ הַפִּסְגָּ֗ה וְשָׂ֥א עֵינֶ֛יךָ יָ֧מָּה וְצָפֹ֛נָה וְתֵימָ֥נָה וּמִזְרָ֖חָה וּרְאֵ֣ה בְעֵינֶ֑יךָ כִּי־לֹ֥א תַעֲבֹ֖ר אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֥ן הַזֶּֽה׃ (כח) וְצַ֥ו אֶת־יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ וְחַזְּקֵ֣הוּ וְאַמְּצֵ֑הוּ כִּי־ה֣וּא יַעֲבֹ֗ר לִפְנֵי֙ הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה וְהוּא֙ יַנְחִ֣יל אוֹתָ֔ם אֶת־הָאָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר תִּרְאֶֽה׃ (כט) וַנֵּ֣שֶׁב בַּגָּ֔יְא מ֖וּל בֵּ֥ית פְּעֽוֹר׃ {פ}
(כג) וְצַלֵּיתִי קֳדָם יְיָ בְּעִדָּנָא הַהִיא לְמֵימָר: (כד) יְיָ אֱלֹּהִים אַתְּ שָׁרֵיתָא לְאַחֲזָאָה יָת עַבְדָּךְ יָת רְבוּתָךְ וְיָת יְדָךְ תַּקֶּפְתָּא דִּי אַתְּ הוּא אֱלָהָא דִּשְׁכִנְתָּךְ בִּשְׁמַיָּא מִלְעֵלָּא וְשַׁלִּיט בְּאַרְעָא וְלֵית דְּיַעְבֵּד כְּעוֹבָדָיךְ וּכְגִבָּרְתָּךְ: (כה) אֵעִבַר כְּעַן וְאֶחֱזֵי יָת אַרְעָא טַבְתָא דִּי בְּעִבְרָא דְיַרְדְּנָא טוּרָא טָבָא הָדֵין וּבֵית מַקְדָּשָׁא: (כו) וַהֲוָה רְגַז מִן קֳדָם יְיָ עֲלַי בְּדִילְכוֹן וְלָא קַבִּיל מִנִּי וַאֲמַר יְיָ לִי סַגִּי לָךְ לָא תוֹסֵף לְמַלָּלָא קֳדָמַי עוֹד בְּפִתְגָּמָא הָדֵין: (כז) סַק לְרֵישׁ רָמָתָא וּזְקוֹף עֵינָיךְ לְמַעֲרָבָא וּלְצִפּוּנָא וְלִדְרוֹמָא וּלְמָדִינְחָא וַחֲזֵי בְעֵינָיִךְ אֲרֵי לָא תְעִבַר יָת יַרְדְּנָא הָדֵין: (כח) וּפַקֵּד יָת יְהוֹשֻׁעַ וְתַקֶּפְהִי וְאַלֶּמְהִי אֲרֵי הוּא יֵעִבַר קֳדָם עַמָּא הָדֵין וְהוּא יַחְסֵן יָתְהוֹן יָת אַרְעָא דִּי תֶחֱזֵי: (כט) וִיתֵבְנָא בְחֵילָתָא לָקֳבֵל בֵּית פְּעוֹר:
23. I prayed before[1] Hashem at that time, saying, 24. ‘Hashem God,[2] You have started to show Your servant Your greatness and Your strong hand, that You are God, Whose Presence is in Heaven above and who rules on Earth. There is no one who can do like Your deeds and Your strengths.[3] 25. I would now cross and see the good land that is on the other side of the Jordan, this good mountain and the Temple.’[4] 26. But there was anger from before Hashem towards me because of you and He didn’t accept (it) from me. Hashem said to me, ‘(That’s) enough for you! Do not continue to speak before Me further of this matter! 27. Go up to the top of the peak and raise your eyes to the west, and to the north, and to the south, and to the east. See with your eyes because you will not cross this Jordan. 28. Command Yehoshua, strengthen him and encourage him, because he will cross before this people, and he will bestow to them the land that you will see.’ 29. We remained in the valley opposite Beis Peor.
Chapter 4
(א) וְעַתָּ֣ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל שְׁמַ֤ע אֶל־הַֽחֻקִּים֙ וְאֶל־הַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֧ר אָֽנֹכִ֛י מְלַמֵּ֥ד אֶתְכֶ֖ם לַעֲשׂ֑וֹת לְמַ֣עַן תִּֽחְי֗וּ וּבָאתֶם֙ וִֽירִשְׁתֶּ֣ם אֶת־הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֧ר יְהֹוָ֛ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבֹתֵיכֶ֖ם נֹתֵ֥ן לָכֶֽם׃ (ב) לֹ֣א תֹסִ֗פוּ עַל־הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֤ר אָנֹכִי֙ מְצַוֶּ֣ה אֶתְכֶ֔ם וְלֹ֥א תִגְרְע֖וּ מִמֶּ֑נּוּ לִשְׁמֹ֗ר אֶת־מִצְוֺת֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָנֹכִ֖י מְצַוֶּ֥ה אֶתְכֶֽם׃ (ג) עֵֽינֵיכֶם֙ הָֽרֹא֔וֹת אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֥ה יְהֹוָ֖ה בְּבַ֣עַל פְּע֑וֹר כִּ֣י כׇל־הָאִ֗ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֤ר הָלַךְ֙ אַחֲרֵ֣י בַֽעַל־פְּע֔וֹר הִשְׁמִיד֛וֹ יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ מִקִּרְבֶּֽךָ׃ (ד) וְאַתֶּם֙ הַדְּבֵקִ֔ים בַּיהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם חַיִּ֥ים כֻּלְּכֶ֖ם הַיּֽוֹם׃
(א) וּכְעַן יִשְׂרָאֵל שְׁמַע לִקְיָמַיָּא וּלְדִינַיָּא דִּי אֲנָא מְאַלֵּף יָתְכוֹן לְמֶעְבַּד בְּדִיל דְּתֵיחוּן וְתֵיתוּן וְתֵירְתוּן יָת אַרְעָא דִּי יְיָ אֱלָהָא דַאֲבָהָתְכוֹן יָהֵב לְכוֹן: (ב) לָא תוֹסְפוּן עַל פִּתְגָּמָא דִּי אֲנָא מְפַקֵּד יָתְכוֹן וְלָא תִמְנְעוּן מִנֵּיהּ לְמִטַּר יָת פִּקּוּדַיָּא דַּיְיָ אֱלָהֲכוֹן דִּי אֲנָא מְפַקֵּד יָתְכוֹן: (ג) עֵינֵיכוֹן חָזָן יָת דִּי עֲבַד יְיָ בְּבַעַל פְּעוֹר אֲרֵי כָּל גַּבְרָא דִּי אֲזַל בָּתַר בַּעַל פְּעוֹר שֵׁצְיֵיהּ יְיָ אֱלָהָךְ מִבֵּינָךְ: (ד) וְאַתּוּן דְּאַדְבֶּקְתּוּן בְּדַחַלְתָּא דַיְיָ אֱלָהֲכוֹן קַיָּמִין כֻּלְּכוֹן יוֹמָא דֵין:
1. And now, Israel, listen to the statutes and to the laws that I am teaching you to do, in order that you will live and come in and inherit the land that Hashem, the God of your fathers, gives to you. 2. Do not add to the matter that I command you and do not detract from it, to observe the commandments of Hashem your God that I command you. 3. Your eyes saw that which Hashem did to those who worship Baal Peor, because Hashem your God destroyed from among you every man who walked after Baal Peor. 4. And you, the ones who clung to reverence of Hashem your God, are all alive today.
