(לט) וְטַפְּכֶם֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֲמַרְתֶּ֜ם לָבַ֣ז יִהְיֶ֗ה וּ֠בְנֵיכֶ֠ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹא־יָדְע֤וּ הַיּוֹם֙ ט֣וֹב וָרָ֔ע הֵ֖מָּה יָבֹ֣אוּ שָׁ֑מָּה וְלָהֶ֣ם אֶתְּנֶ֔נָּה וְהֵ֖ם יִירָשֽׁוּהָ׃ (מ) וְאַתֶּ֖ם פְּנ֣וּ לָכֶ֑ם וּסְע֥וּ הַמִּדְבָּ֖רָה דֶּ֥רֶךְ יַם־סֽוּף׃ (מא) וַֽתַּעֲנ֣וּ ׀ וַתֹּאמְר֣וּ אֵלַ֗י חָטָ֘אנוּ֮ לַיהֹוָה֒ אֲנַ֤חְנוּ נַעֲלֶה֙ וְנִלְחַ֔מְנוּ כְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֖נוּ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ וַֽתַּחְגְּר֗וּ אִ֚ישׁ אֶת־כְּלֵ֣י מִלְחַמְתּ֔וֹ וַתָּהִ֖ינוּ לַעֲלֹ֥ת הָהָֽרָה׃ (מב) וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה אֵלַ֗י אֱמֹ֤ר לָהֶם֙ לֹ֤א תַֽעֲלוּ֙ וְלֹא־תִלָּ֣חֲמ֔וּ כִּ֥י אֵינֶ֖נִּי בְּקִרְבְּכֶ֑ם וְלֹא֙ תִּנָּ֣גְפ֔וּ לִפְנֵ֖י אֹיְבֵיכֶֽם׃ (מג) וָאֲדַבֵּ֥ר אֲלֵיכֶ֖ם וְלֹ֣א שְׁמַעְתֶּ֑ם וַתַּמְרוּ֙ אֶת־פִּ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה וַתָּזִ֖דוּ וַתַּעֲל֥וּ הָהָֽרָה׃ (מד) וַיֵּצֵ֨א הָאֱמֹרִ֜י הַיֹּשֵׁ֨ב בָּהָ֤ר הַהוּא֙ לִקְרַאתְכֶ֔ם וַיִּרְדְּפ֣וּ אֶתְכֶ֔ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר תַּעֲשֶׂ֖ינָה הַדְּבֹרִ֑ים וַֽיַּכְּת֥וּ אֶתְכֶ֛ם בְּשֵׂעִ֖יר עַד־חׇרְמָֽה׃ (מה) וַתָּשֻׁ֥בוּ וַתִּבְכּ֖וּ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וְלֹֽא־שָׁמַ֤ע יְהֹוָה֙ בְּקֹ֣לְכֶ֔ם וְלֹ֥א הֶאֱזִ֖ין אֲלֵיכֶֽם׃ (מו) וַתֵּשְׁב֥וּ בְקָדֵ֖שׁ יָמִ֣ים רַבִּ֑ים כַּיָּמִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְשַׁבְתֶּֽם׃
(לט) וְטַפְלְכוֹן דִּי אֲמַרְתּוּן לְבִזָּא יְהוֹן וּבְנֵיכוֹן דִּי לָא יְדָעוּ יוֹמָא דֵין טַב וּבִישׁ אִנּוּן יַעֲלוּן לְתַמָּן וּלְהוֹן אֶתְּנִנַּהּ וְאִנּוּן יֵירְתֻנַּהּ: (מ) וְאַתּוּן אִתְפְּנִיּוּ לְכוֹן וְטוּלוּ לְמַדְבְּרָא אֹרַח יַמָּא דְסוּף: (מא) וַאֲתֶבְתּוּן וַאֲמַרְתּוּן לִי חַבְנָא קֳדָם יְיָ אֲנַחְנָא נִסַּק וּנְגִיחַ בֵּיהּ קְרָב כְּכֹל דִּי פַקְּדָנָא יְיָ אֱלָהָנָא וְזָרֶזְתּוּן גְּבַר יָת מָנֵי קְרָבֵיהּ וְשָׁרֵיתוּן לְמִסַּק לְטוּרָא: (מב) וַאֲמַר יְיָ לִי אֱמַר לְהוֹן לָא תִסְּקוּן וְלָא תְגִיחוּן קְרָב אֲרֵי לֵית שְׁכִנְתִּי שָׁרְיָא בֵינֵיכוֹן וְלָא תִּתָּבְרוּן קֳדָם בַּעֲלֵי דְבָבֵיכוֹן: (מג) וּמַלֵּלִית עִמְּכוֹן וְלָא קַבֶּלְתּוּן וְסָרֶבְתּוּן עַל גְּזֵרַת מֵימְרָא דַיְיָ וְאַרְשַׁעְתּוּן וּסְלֶקְתּוּן לְטוּרָא: (מד) וּנְפַק אֱמֹרָאָה דְּיָתֵב בְּטוּרָא הַהוּא לְקַדָּמוּתְכוֹן וּרְדָפוּ יָתְכוֹן כְּמָא דִי נַתְּזָן דַּבַּרְיָתָא וּטְרָדוּ יָתְכוֹן בְּשֵׂעִיר עַד חָרְמָה: (מה) וְתַבְתּוּן וּבְכִיתוּן קֳדָם יְיָ וְלָא קַבִּיל יְיָ צְלוֹתְכוֹן וְלָא אַצֵּית לְמִלֵּיכוֹן: (מו) וִיתֶבְתּוּן בִּרְקָם יוֹמִין סַגִּיאִין כְּיוֹמַיָּא דִּי יְתֶבְתּוּן:
39. And your infants, whom you said would be prey, and your children who today don’t (yet) know good and bad, they will come there, and to them I will give it, and they will inherit it. 40. And you, turn yourselves and travel towards the wilderness by the way of the Sea of Reeds.’ 41. You answered and you said to me, ‘We sinned before[1] Hashem. We will go up and we will fight according to all that Hashem our God commanded us.’ Each man girded (himself) with his implements of war and you started[2] to ascend the mountain. 42. Hashem said to me, ‘Say to them, do not go up and do not battle because My presence is not among you, so you not be broken[3] before your enemies.’ 43. I spoke with you and you didn’t accept. You rebelled against Hashem’s word and willfully ascended the mountain. 44. The Amorite(s) who dwelled on that mountain came out to meet you; they chased you as bees gush and they drove you in Seir until Chormah. 45. And you went back and you cried before Hashem, and Hashem didn’t accept your prayer and He didn’t heed your words. 46. And you dwelled in R’kam many days, like the days that you dwelled.
Chapter 2
(א) וַנֵּ֜פֶן וַנִּסַּ֤ע הַמִּדְבָּ֙רָה֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ יַם־ס֔וּף כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלָ֑י וַנָּ֥סׇב אֶת־הַר־שֵׂעִ֖יר יָמִ֥ים רַבִּֽים׃ {ס}
(א) וְאִתְפְּנֵינָא וּנְטַלְנָא לְמַדְבְּרָא אֹרַח יַמָּא דְסוּף כְּמָא דִי מַלִּיל יְיָ עִמִּי וְאַקֵּפְנָא יָת טוּרָא דְשֵׂעִיר יוֹמִין סַגִּיאִין:
1. We turned and we traveled towards the wilderness by way of the Sea of Reeds, as Hashem had spoken with me, and we circled Mount Seir (for) many days.
