(נ) וַיְדַבֵּ֧ר יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֖ה בְּעַֽרְבֹ֣ת מוֹאָ֑ב עַל־יַרְדֵּ֥ן יְרֵח֖וֹ לֵאמֹֽר׃ (נא) דַּבֵּר֙ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ אֲלֵהֶ֑ם כִּ֥י אַתֶּ֛ם עֹבְרִ֥ים אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן אֶל־אֶ֥רֶץ כְּנָֽעַן׃ (נב) וְה֨וֹרַשְׁתֶּ֜ם אֶת־כׇּל־יֹשְׁבֵ֤י הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ מִפְּנֵיכֶ֔ם וְאִ֨בַּדְתֶּ֔ם אֵ֖ת כׇּל־מַשְׂכִּיֹּתָ֑ם וְאֵ֨ת כׇּל־צַלְמֵ֤י מַסֵּֽכֹתָם֙ תְּאַבֵּ֔דוּ וְאֵ֥ת כׇּל־בָּמוֹתָ֖ם תַּשְׁמִֽידוּ׃ (נג) וְהוֹרַשְׁתֶּ֥ם אֶת־הָאָ֖רֶץ וִֽישַׁבְתֶּם־בָּ֑הּ כִּ֥י לָכֶ֛ם נָתַ֥תִּי אֶת־הָאָ֖רֶץ לָרֶ֥שֶׁת אֹתָֽהּ׃ (נד) וְהִתְנַחַלְתֶּם֩ אֶת־הָאָ֨רֶץ בְּגוֹרָ֜ל לְמִשְׁפְּחֹֽתֵיכֶ֗ם לָרַ֞ב תַּרְבּ֤וּ אֶת־נַחֲלָתוֹ֙ וְלַמְעַט֙ תַּמְעִ֣יט אֶת־נַחֲלָת֔וֹ אֶל֩ אֲשֶׁר־יֵ֨צֵא ל֥וֹ שָׁ֛מָּה הַגּוֹרָ֖ל ל֣וֹ יִהְיֶ֑ה לְמַטּ֥וֹת אֲבֹתֵיכֶ֖ם תִּתְנֶחָֽלוּ׃ (נה) וְאִם־לֹ֨א תוֹרִ֜ישׁוּ אֶת־יֹשְׁבֵ֣י הָאָ֘רֶץ֮ מִפְּנֵיכֶם֒ וְהָיָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תּוֹתִ֣ירוּ מֵהֶ֔ם לְשִׂכִּים֙ בְּעֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔ם וְלִצְנִינִ֖ם בְּצִדֵּיכֶ֑ם וְצָרְר֣וּ אֶתְכֶ֔ם עַל־הָאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתֶּ֖ם יֹשְׁבִ֥ים בָּֽהּ׃ (נו) וְהָיָ֗ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּמִּ֛יתִי לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת לָהֶ֖ם אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֥ה לָכֶֽם׃ {פ}
(נ) וּמַלִּיל יְיָ עִם משֶׁה בְּמֵישְׁרַיָּא דְמוֹאָב עַל יַרְדְּנָא דִירֵחוֹ לְמֵימָר: (נא) מַלֵּל עִם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְתֵימַר לְהוֹן אֲרֵי אַתּוּן עָבְרִין יָת יַרְדְּנָא לְאַרְעָא דִכְנָעַן: (נב) וּתְתָרְכוּן יָת כָּל יָתְבֵי אַרְעָא מִן קֳדָמֵיכוֹן וְתֵבְדוּן יָת כָּל בֵּית סִגְדַּתְהוֹן וְיָת כָּל צַלְמֵי מַתְּכַתְהוֹן תֵּבְדוּן וְיָת כָּל בָּמַתְהוֹן תְּשֵׁצוּן: (נג) וּתְתָרְכוּן יָת יָתְבֵי אַרְעָא וְתֵיתְבוּן בַּהּ אֲרֵי לְכוֹן יְהָבִית יָת אַרְעָא לְמֵירַת יָתָהּ: (נד) וְתַחְסְנוּן יָת אַרְעָא בְעַדְבָא לְזַרְעֲיַתְכוֹן לְסַגִּיאֵי תַּסְגּוּן יָת אַחֲסַנְתְּהוֹן וְלִזְעִירֵי תַּזְעִירוּן יָת אַחֲסַנְתְּהוֹן לִדְיִפּוֹק לֵיהּ תַּמָּן עַדְבָא דִּי לֵיהּ יְהֵי לְשִׁבְטֵי אֲבָהַתְכוֹן תַּחְסְנוּן: (נה) וְאִם לָא תְתָרְכוּן יָת יָתְבֵי אַרְעָא מִן קֳדָמֵיכוֹן וִיהֵי דִּי תַשְׁאֲרוּן מִנְּהוֹן לְסִיעַן נָטְלַן זְיַן לָקִבְלֵיכוֹן וּלְמַשִּׁרְיַן מַקְפַּנְכוֹן וִיעִיקוּן לְכוֹן עַל אַרְעָא דִּי אַתּוּן יָתְבִין בַּהּ: (נו) וִיהֵי כְּמָא דִי חֲשָׁבִית לְמֶעְבַּד לְהוֹן אַעֲבֵּד לְכוֹן:
50. Hashem spoke with Moshe in the plains of Moav, at the Jordan of Jericho, saying: 51. Speak with the children of Israel and say to them: When you cross the Jordan to the land of Canaan, 52. you shall drive out all the residents of the land from before you; you shall destroy all their places of worship, and all their graven images you shall destroy, and all their high places[1] you shall demolish. 53. You shall drive out the residents of the land and you shall settle in it because I have given the land to you to inherit it. 54. You shall bestow[2] the land by lot according to your families; for the many you shall increase their inheritance and for the few you shall reduce their inheritance. Where the lot falls for him, it shall be his; by the tribes of your fathers you shall bestow. 55. And if you don’t drive out the residents of the land from before you, it will be that those who remain from them will be battalions taking arms against you and camps surrounding you;[3] they will trouble you on the land in which you settle. 56. It will be that as I planned to do to them, I will do to you.
Chapter 34
(א) וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ (ב) צַ֞ו אֶת־בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵהֶ֔ם כִּֽי־אַתֶּ֥ם בָּאִ֖ים אֶל־הָאָ֣רֶץ כְּנָ֑עַן זֹ֣את הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר תִּפֹּ֤ל לָכֶם֙ בְּֽנַחֲלָ֔ה אֶ֥רֶץ כְּנַ֖עַן לִגְבֻלֹתֶֽיהָ׃ (ג) וְהָיָ֨ה לָכֶ֧ם פְּאַת־נֶ֛גֶב מִמִּדְבַּר־צִ֖ן עַל־יְדֵ֣י אֱד֑וֹם וְהָיָ֤ה לָכֶם֙ גְּב֣וּל נֶ֔גֶב מִקְצֵ֥ה יָם־הַמֶּ֖לַח קֵֽדְמָה׃ (ד) וְנָסַ֣ב לָכֶם֩ הַגְּב֨וּל מִנֶּ֜גֶב לְמַעֲלֵ֤ה עַקְרַבִּים֙ וְעָ֣בַר צִ֔נָה והיה [וְהָיוּ֙] תּֽוֹצְאֹתָ֔יו מִנֶּ֖גֶב לְקָדֵ֣שׁ בַּרְנֵ֑עַ וְיָצָ֥א חֲצַר־אַדָּ֖ר וְעָבַ֥ר עַצְמֹֽנָה׃ (ה) וְנָסַ֧ב הַגְּב֛וּל מֵעַצְמ֖וֹן נַ֣חְלָה מִצְרָ֑יִם וְהָי֥וּ תוֹצְאֹתָ֖יו הַיָּֽמָּה׃ (ו) וּגְב֣וּל יָ֔ם וְהָיָ֥ה לָכֶ֛ם הַיָּ֥ם הַגָּד֖וֹל וּגְב֑וּל זֶֽה־יִהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם גְּב֥וּל יָֽם׃ (ז) וְזֶֽה־יִהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם גְּב֣וּל צָפ֑וֹן מִן־הַיָּם֙ הַגָּדֹ֔ל תְּתָא֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם הֹ֥ר הָהָֽר׃ (ח) מֵהֹ֣ר הָהָ֔ר תְּתָא֖וּ לְבֹ֣א חֲמָ֑ת וְהָי֛וּ תּוֹצְאֹ֥ת הַגְּבֻ֖ל צְדָֽדָה׃ (ט) וְיָצָ֤א הַגְּבֻל֙ זִפְרֹ֔נָה וְהָי֥וּ תוֹצְאֹתָ֖יו חֲצַ֣ר עֵינָ֑ן זֶֽה־יִהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם גְּב֥וּל צָפֽוֹן׃ (י) וְהִתְאַוִּיתֶ֥ם לָכֶ֖ם לִגְב֣וּל קֵ֑דְמָה מֵחֲצַ֥ר עֵינָ֖ן שְׁפָֽמָה׃ (יא) וְיָרַ֨ד הַגְּבֻ֧ל מִשְּׁפָ֛ם הָרִבְלָ֖ה מִקֶּ֣דֶם לָעָ֑יִן וְיָרַ֣ד הַגְּבֻ֔ל וּמָחָ֛ה עַל־כֶּ֥תֶף יָם־כִּנֶּ֖רֶת קֵֽדְמָה׃ (יב) וְיָרַ֤ד הַגְּבוּל֙ הַיַּרְדֵּ֔נָה וְהָי֥וּ תוֹצְאֹתָ֖יו יָ֣ם הַמֶּ֑לַח זֹאת֩ תִּהְיֶ֨ה לָכֶ֥ם הָאָ֛רֶץ לִגְבֻלֹתֶ֖יהָ סָבִֽיב׃ (יג) וַיְצַ֣ו מֹשֶׁ֔ה אֶת־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר זֹ֣את הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר תִּתְנַחֲל֤וּ אֹתָהּ֙ בְּגוֹרָ֔ל אֲשֶׁר֙ צִוָּ֣ה יְהֹוָ֔ה לָתֵ֛ת לְתִשְׁעַ֥ת הַמַּטּ֖וֹת וַחֲצִ֥י הַמַּטֶּֽה׃ (יד) כִּ֣י לָקְח֞וּ מַטֵּ֨ה בְנֵ֤י הָראוּבֵנִי֙ לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֔ם וּמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵֽי־הַגָּדִ֖י לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם וַחֲצִי֙ מַטֵּ֣ה מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה לָקְח֖וּ נַחֲלָתָֽם׃ (טו) שְׁנֵ֥י הַמַּטּ֖וֹת וַחֲצִ֣י הַמַּטֶּ֑ה לָקְח֣וּ נַחֲלָתָ֗ם מֵעֵ֛בֶר לְיַרְדֵּ֥ן יְרֵח֖וֹ קֵ֥דְמָה מִזְרָֽחָה׃ {פ}
(א) וּמַלִּיל יְיָ עִם משֶׁה לְמֵימָר: (ב) פַּקֵּד יָת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְתֵימַר לְהוֹן אֲרֵי אַתּוּן עָלִין לְאַרְעָא דִכְנָעַן דָּא אַרְעָא דִּי תִתְפְּלֵג לְכוֹן בְּאַחֲסָנָא אַרְעָא דִכְנַעַן לִתְחוּמָהָא: (ג) וִיהֵי לְכוֹן רוּחַ דָּרוֹמָא מִמַּדְבְּרָא דְצִן עַל תְּחוּמֵי אֱדוֹם וִיהֵי לְכוֹן תְּחוּם דָּרוֹמָא מִסְּיָפֵי יַמָּא דְמִלְחָא קִדּוּמָא: (ד) וְיַסְחַר לְכוֹן תְּחוּמָא מִדְּרוֹמָא לְמַסְקָנָא דְעַקְרַבִּים וִיעִבַר לְצִן וִיהוֹן מַפְּקָנוֹהִי מִדְּרוֹמָא לִרְקַם גֵּיאָה וְיִפּוֹק לַחֲצַר אַדָּר וִיעִבַר לְעַצְמוֹן: (ה) וְיַסְחַר תְּחוּמָא מֵעַצְמוֹן לְנַחֲלָא דְמִצְרָיִם וִיהוֹן מַפְּקָנוֹהִי לְיַמָּא: (ו) וּתְחוּם מַעַרְבָא וִיהֵי לְכוֹן יַמָּא רַבָּא וּתְחוּמֵיהּ דֵּין יְהֵי לְכוֹן תְּחוּם מַעֲרְבָא: (ז) וְדֵין יְהֵי לְכוֹן תְּחוּם צִפּוּנָא מִן יַמָּא רַבָּא תְּכַוְּנוּן לְכוֹן לְהֹר טוּרָא: (ח) מֵהוֹר טוּרָא תְּכַוְּנוּן לִמְטֵי חֲמָת וִיהוֹן מַפְּקָנוֹהִי דִתְחוּמָא לִצְדָד: (ט) וְיִפּוֹק תְּחוּמָא לְזִפְרוֹן וִיהוֹן מַפְּקָנוֹהִי לַחֲצַר עֵינָן דֵּין יְהֵי לְכוֹן תְּחוּם צִפּוּנָא: (י) וּתְכַוְּנוּן לְכוֹן לִתְחוּם קִדּוּמָא מֵחֲצַר עֵינָן לִשְׁפָם: (יא) וְיֵחוֹת תְּחוּמָא מִשְּׁפָם לְרִבְלָה מִמַּדְנַח לָעָיִן וְיֵחוֹת תְּחוּמָא וְיִמְטֵי עַל כֵּיף יַם גִנֵסַר קִדּוּמָא: (יב) וְיֵחוֹת תְּחוּמָא לְיַרְדְּנָא וִיהוֹן מַפְּקָנוֹהִי לְיַמָּא דְמִלְחָא דָּא תְהֵי לְכוֹן אַרְעָא לִתְחוּמָהָא סְחוֹר סְחוֹר: (יג) וּפַקִּיד משֶׁה יָת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְמֵימָר דָּא אַרְעָא דִּי תִתְחַסְנוּן יָתַהּ בְּעַדְבָא דִּי פַּקִּיד יְיָ לְמִתַּן לְתִשְׁעַת שִׁבְטִין וּפַלְגּוּת שִׁבְטָא: (יד) אֲרֵי קַבִּילוּ שִׁבְטָא דִבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן לְבֵית אֲבָהַתְהוֹן וְשִׁבְטָא דִבְנֵי גָד לְבֵית אֲבָהַתְהוֹן וּפַלְגּוּת שִׁבְטָא דִמְנַשֶּׁה קַבִּילוּ אַחֲסַנְתְּהוֹן: (טו) תְּרֵין שִׁבְטִין וּפַלְגּוּת שִׁבְטָא קַבִּילוּ אַחֲסַנְתְּהוֹן מֵעִבְרָא לְיַרְדְּנָא דִירֵחוֹ קִדּוּמָא מַדִּינְחָא:
1. Hashem spoke with Moshe, saying: 2. Command the children of Israel and say to them: When you come in to the land of Canaan, this is the land that will be divided for you in inheritance, the land of Canaan according to its borders. 3. The southern corner will be to you from the Tzin wilderness on the borders of Edom. The southern border will be to you from the ends of the Dead Sea to the east. 4. The border will turn for you from the south to the height of Akrabim and pass towards Tzin; its ends will be from the south to R’kam Geiah.[4] It shall extend to Chatzar Adar and pass towards Atzmon. 5. The border will turn from Atzmon towards the stream of Egypt, and its ends will be to the sea.[5] 6. The western border will be for you the Great Sea;[6] this, its border, will be to you (the) western border. 7. And this will be your northern border: from the Great Sea, direct yourselves towards Mount Hor, 8. from Mount Hor direct to come to Chamas; the ends of the border will be towards Tz’dad. 9. The border will then extend towards Zifron, and its ends to Chatzar Einan; this will be to you the northern border. 10. Direct yourselves towards the eastern border, from Chatzar Einan to Sh’fam. 11. The border shall go down from Sh’fam towards Rivlah, on the east of Ayin. The border shall go down and strike the eastern shoulder of the Gineisar Sea.[7] 12. The border shall go down along the Jordan, and its ends will be the Salt Sea;[8] this will be for you the land by its borders all around. 13. Moshe commanded the children of Israel, saying: This is the land that you will inherit it by lot, that Hashem commanded to give to the nine tribes and the half tribe, 14. because the tribe of the Reubenite children received[9] according to its fathers’ house(s), and the tribe of the Gadite children according to its fathers’ house(s), and half the tribe of Menashe received their inheritance. 15. The two tribes and the half tribe received their inheritance on the other side of the Jordan of Jericho, to the East.[10]
