(כ) וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם֙ מֹשֶׁ֔ה אִֽם־תַּעֲשׂ֖וּן אֶת־הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה אִם־תֵּחָ֥לְצ֛וּ לִפְנֵ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ (כא) וְעָבַ֨ר לָכֶ֧ם כׇּל־חָל֛וּץ אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה עַ֧ד הוֹרִישׁ֛וֹ אֶת־אֹיְבָ֖יו מִפָּנָֽיו׃ (כב) וְנִכְבְּשָׁ֨ה הָאָ֜רֶץ לִפְנֵ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ וְאַחַ֣ר תָּשֻׁ֔בוּ וִהְיִיתֶ֧ם נְקִיִּ֛ם מֵיְהֹוָ֖ה וּמִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְ֠הָיְתָ֠ה הָאָ֨רֶץ הַזֹּ֥את לָכֶ֛ם לַאֲחֻזָּ֖ה לִפְנֵ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃ (כג) וְאִם־לֹ֤א תַעֲשׂוּן֙ כֵּ֔ן הִנֵּ֥ה חֲטָאתֶ֖ם לַיהֹוָ֑ה וּדְעוּ֙ חַטַּאתְכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר תִּמְצָ֖א אֶתְכֶֽם׃ (כד) בְּנֽוּ־לָכֶ֤ם עָרִים֙ לְטַפְּכֶ֔ם וּגְדֵרֹ֖ת לְצֹנַאֲכֶ֑ם וְהַיֹּצֵ֥א מִפִּיכֶ֖ם תַּעֲשֽׂוּ׃ (כה) וַיֹּ֤אמֶר בְּנֵי־גָד֙ וּבְנֵ֣י רְאוּבֵ֔ן אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֖ה לֵאמֹ֑ר עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ יַעֲשׂ֔וּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲדֹנִ֖י מְצַוֶּֽה׃ (כו) טַפֵּ֣נוּ נָשֵׁ֔ינוּ מִקְנֵ֖נוּ וְכׇל־בְּהֶמְתֵּ֑נוּ יִֽהְיוּ־שָׁ֖ם בְּעָרֵ֥י הַגִּלְעָֽד׃ (כז) וַעֲבָדֶ֨יךָ יַֽעַבְר֜וּ כׇּל־חֲל֥וּץ צָבָ֛א לִפְנֵ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה לַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲדֹנִ֖י דֹּבֵֽר׃ (כח) וַיְצַ֤ו לָהֶם֙ מֹשֶׁ֔ה אֵ֚ת אֶלְעָזָ֣ר הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וְאֵ֖ת יְהוֹשֻׁ֣עַ בִּן־נ֑וּן וְאֶת־רָאשֵׁ֛י אֲב֥וֹת הַמַּטּ֖וֹת לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (כט) וַיֹּ֨אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֜ה אֲלֵהֶ֗ם אִם־יַעַבְר֣וּ בְנֵי־גָ֣ד וּבְנֵי־רְאוּבֵ֣ן ׀ אִ֠תְּכֶ֠ם אֶֽת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֞ן כׇּל־חָל֤וּץ לַמִּלְחָמָה֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה וְנִכְבְּשָׁ֥ה הָאָ֖רֶץ לִפְנֵיכֶ֑ם וּנְתַתֶּ֥ם לָהֶ֛ם אֶת־אֶ֥רֶץ הַגִּלְעָ֖ד לַאֲחֻזָּֽה׃ (ל) וְאִם־לֹ֧א יַֽעַבְר֛וּ חֲלוּצִ֖ים אִתְּכֶ֑ם וְנֹֽאחֲז֥וּ בְתֹכְכֶ֖ם בְּאֶ֥רֶץ כְּנָֽעַן׃ (לא) וַיַּֽעֲנ֧וּ בְנֵי־גָ֛ד וּבְנֵ֥י רְאוּבֵ֖ן לֵאמֹ֑ר אֵת֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֧ר יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶל־עֲבָדֶ֖יךָ כֵּ֥ן נַעֲשֶֽׂה׃ (לב) נַ֣חְנוּ נַעֲבֹ֧ר חֲלוּצִ֛ים לִפְנֵ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶ֣רֶץ כְּנָ֑עַן וְאִתָּ֙נוּ֙ אֲחֻזַּ֣ת נַחֲלָתֵ֔נוּ מֵעֵ֖בֶר לַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ (לג) וַיִּתֵּ֣ן לָהֶ֣ם ׀ מֹשֶׁ֡ה לִבְנֵי־גָד֩ וְלִבְנֵ֨י רְאוּבֵ֜ן וְלַחֲצִ֣י ׀ שֵׁ֣בֶט ׀ מְנַשֶּׁ֣ה בֶן־יוֹסֵ֗ף אֶת־מַמְלֶ֙כֶת֙ סִיחֹן֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ הָֽאֱמֹרִ֔י וְאֶ֨ת־מַמְלֶ֔כֶת ע֖וֹג מֶ֣לֶךְ הַבָּשָׁ֑ן הָאָ֗רֶץ לְעָרֶ֙יהָ֙ בִּגְבֻלֹ֔ת עָרֵ֥י הָאָ֖רֶץ סָבִֽיב׃ (לד) וַיִּבְנ֣וּ בְנֵי־גָ֔ד אֶת־דִּיבֹ֖ן וְאֶת־עֲטָרֹ֑ת וְאֵ֖ת עֲרֹעֵֽר׃ (לה) וְאֶת־עַטְרֹ֥ת שׁוֹפָ֛ן וְאֶת־יַעְזֵ֖ר וְיׇגְבְּהָֽה׃ (לו) וְאֶת־בֵּ֥ית נִמְרָ֖ה וְאֶת־בֵּ֣ית הָרָ֑ן עָרֵ֥י מִבְצָ֖ר וְגִדְרֹ֥ת צֹֽאן׃ (לז) וּבְנֵ֤י רְאוּבֵן֙ בָּנ֔וּ אֶת־חֶשְׁבּ֖וֹן וְאֶת־אֶלְעָלֵ֑א וְאֵ֖ת קִרְיָתָֽיִם׃ (לח) וְאֶת־נְב֞וֹ וְאֶת־בַּ֧עַל מְע֛וֹן מֽוּסַבֹּ֥ת שֵׁ֖ם וְאֶת־שִׂבְמָ֑ה וַיִּקְרְא֣וּ בְשֵׁמֹ֔ת אֶת־שְׁמ֥וֹת הֶעָרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּנֽוּ׃ (לט) וַיֵּ֨לְכ֜וּ בְּנֵ֨י מָכִ֧יר בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁ֛ה גִּלְעָ֖דָה וַֽיִּלְכְּדֻ֑הָ וַיּ֖וֹרֶשׁ אֶת־הָאֱמֹרִ֥י אֲשֶׁר־בָּֽהּ׃ (מ) וַיִּתֵּ֤ן מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶת־הַגִּלְעָ֔ד לְמָכִ֖יר בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁ֑ה וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב בָּֽהּ׃ (מא) וְיָאִ֤יר בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁה֙ הָלַ֔ךְ וַיִּלְכֹּ֖ד אֶת־חַוֺּתֵיהֶ֑ם וַיִּקְרָ֥א אֶתְהֶ֖ן חַוֺּ֥ת יָאִֽיר׃ (מב) וְנֹ֣בַח הָלַ֔ךְ וַיִּלְכֹּ֥ד אֶת־קְנָ֖ת וְאֶת־בְּנֹתֶ֑יהָ וַיִּקְרָ֧א לָ֦הֿ נֹ֖בַח בִּשְׁמֽוֹ׃ {פ}
(כ) וַאֲמַר לְהוֹן משֶׁה אִם תַּעְבְּדוּן יָת פִּתְגָּמָא הָדֵין אִם תִּזְדָּרְזוּן קֳדָם עַמָּא דַיְיָ לִקְרָבָא: (כא) וְיַעֲבֵּר לְכוֹן כָּל דִּמְזָרֵז יָת יַרְדְּנָא קֳדָם עַמָּא דַיְיָ עַד דִּיתָרֵךְ יָת בַּעֲלֵי דְבָבוֹהִי מִן קֳדָמוֹהִי: (כב) וְתִתְכְּבֵשׁ אַרְעָא קֳדָם עַמָּא דַיְיָ וּבָתַר כֵּן תְּתוּבוּן וּתְהוֹן זַכָּאִין מִן קֳדָם יְיָ וּמִיִּשְׂרָאֵל וּתְהֵי אַרְעָא הָדָא לְכוֹן לְאַחֲסָנָא קֳדָם יְיָ: (כג) וְאִם לָא תַעַבְּדוּן כֵּן הָא חַבְתּוּן קֳדָם יְיָ וְתִדְעוּן חוֹבַתְכוֹן דִּי תַשְׁכַּח יָתְכוֹן: (כד) בְּנוּ לְכוֹן קִרְוִין לְטַפְלְכוֹן וְחַטְרִין לְעַנְכוֹן וּדְיִפּוֹק מִפּוּמְכוֹן תַּעַבְּדוּן: (כה) וַאֲמָרוּ בְנֵי גָד וּבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן לְמשֶׁה לְמֵימָר עַבְדָּיךְ יַעְבְּדוּן כְּמָא דִּי רִבּוֹנִי מְפַקֵּד: (כו) טַפְלָנָא נְשָׁנָא גֵּיתָנָא וְכָל בְּעִירָנָא יְהוֹן תַּמָּן בְּקִרְוֵי גִלְעָד: (כז) וְעַבְדָּיךְ יַעְבְּרוּן כָּל דִמְזָרֵז חֵילָא קֳדָם עַמָּא דַיְיָ לִקְרָבָא כְּמָא דִי רִבּוֹנִי מְמַלֵּל: (כח) וּפַקִּיד לְהוֹן משֶׁה יָת אֶלְעָזָר כַּהֲנָא וְיָת יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בַּר נוּן וְיָת רֵישֵׁי אֲבָהַת שִׁבְטַיָּא לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל: (כט) וַאֲמַר משֶׁה לְהוֹן אִם יַעְבְּרוּן בְּנֵי גָד וּבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן עִמְּכוֹן יָת יַרְדְּנָא כָּל דִּמְזָרַז לִקְרָבָא קֳדָם עַמָּא דַיְיָ וְתִתְכְּבֵשׁ אַרְעָא קֳדָמֵיכוֹן וְתִתְּנוּן לְהוֹן יָת אַרְעָא דְגִלְעָד לְאַחֲסָנָא: (ל) וְאִם לָא יַעְבְּרוּן מְזָרְזִין עִמְּכוֹן וְיַחְסְנוּן בֵּינֵיכוֹן בְּאַרְעָא דִכְנָעַן: (לא) וַאֲתִיבוּ בְנֵי גָד וּבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן לְמֵימָר יָת דִּי מַלִּיל יְיָ לְעַבְדָּיךְ כֵּן נַעְבֵּד: (לב) נַחְנָא נְעִבַר מְזָרְזִין קֳדָם עַמָּא דַיְיָ לְאַרְעָא דִכְנָעַן וְעִמָּנָא אֲחוּדַת אַחֲסַנְתָּנָא מֵעִבְרָא לְיַרְדְּנָא: (לג) וִיהַב לְהוֹן משֶׁה לִבְנֵי גָד וְלִבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן וּלְפַלְגּוּת שִׁבְטָא דִּמְנַשֶּׁה בַר יוֹסֵף יָת מַלְכְּוַת סִיחוֹן מַלְכָּא דֶאֱמוֹרָאָה וְיָת מַלְכְּוַת עוֹג מַלְכָּא דְמַתְנָן אַרְעָא לְקִרְוָהָא בִּתְחוּמִין קִרְוֵי אַרְעָא סְחוֹר סְחוֹר: (לד) וּבְנוֹ בְנֵי גָד יָת דִּיבוֹן וְיָת עֲטָרוֹת וְיָת עֲרֹעֵר: (לה) וְיָת עַטְרוֹת שׁוֹפָן וְיָת יַעְזֵר וְרָמָתָא: (לו) וְיָת בֵּית נִמְרָה וְיָת בֵּית הָרָן קִרְוִין כְּרִיכָן וְחַטְרִין דְּעָן: (לז) וּבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן בְּנוֹ יָת חֶשׁבּוֹן וְיָת אֶלְעָלֵא וְיָת קִרְיָתָיִם: (לח) וְיָת נְבוֹ וְיָת בַּעַל מְעוֹן מַקְּפַן שְׁמָהָן וְיָת שִׂבְמָה וּקְרוֹ בִשְׁמָהָן יָת שְׁמָהַת קִרְוַיָּא דִּי בְנוֹ: (לט) וַאֲזָלוּ בְּנֵי מָכִיר בַּר מְנַשֶּׁה לְגִלְעָד וְכִבְשׁוּהָ וְתָרִיךְ יָת אֱמוֹרָאָה דִי בַהּ: (מ) וִיהַב משֶׁה יָת גִּלְעָד לְמָכִיר בַּר מְנַשֶּׁה וִיתֵב בַּהּ: (מא) וְיָאִיר בַּר מְנַשֶּׁה אֲזַל וּכְבַשׁ יָת כַּפְרָנֵיהוֹן וּקְרָא יָתְהֶן כַּפְרָנֵי יָאִיר: (מב) וְנֹבַח אֲזַל וּכְבַשׁ יָת קְנַת וְיָת כַּפְרָנָהָא וּקְרָא לַהּ נֹבַח בִּשְׁמֵיהּ:
20. Moshe said to them, “If you do this thing, if you arm (yourselves) before Hashem’s people, to war, 21. and everyone armed among you crosses the Jordan before Hashem’s people, until He drives His enemies from before Him, 22. and the land is conquered before Hashem’s people, and after this you return, (then) you shall be cleared from before Hashem and from Israel. This land will be your possession before Hashem. 23. But if you do not do thus, behold, you will have sinned before Hashem. Know your sin that will find you. 24. Build for yourselves cities for your children and pens for your flock, and do that which will go out from your mouths.” 25. The children of Gad and the children of Reuven said to Moshe, saying, “Your servants will do as my master commands. 26. Our children, our wives, our flocks and all our other cattle will be there in the cities of Gilad,[1] 27. and your servants will cross – all those armed for battle – before Hashem’s people for war, as my master has spoken.” 28. Moshe commanded (regarding) them (to) Elazar the priest, Yehoshua son of Nun, and the paternal heads of the Tribes of the children of Israel. 29. Moshe said to them, “If the children of Gad and the children of Reuven cross the Jordan with you – everyone armed for war before Hashem’s people – and the land is conquered before you, you shall give to them the land of Gilad for a possession. 30. And if they don’t cross armed with you, they will receive possession among you in the land of Canaan.” 31. The children of Gad and the children of Reuven answered, saying, “That which Hashem has spoken regarding your servants, so we shall do. 32. We will cross armed before Hashem’s people (to) the land of Canaan, and with us, the possession of our inheritance on the other side of the Jordan.” 33. Moshe gave them – to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuven, and to half the tribe of Menashe son of Yoseif – the kingdom of Sichon, king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og, king of Masnan – the land according to its cities in its borders, the cities of the land all around.[2] 34. The children of Gad built Divon, Ataros and Aroeir, 35. and Atros-Shofan, Yazeir and Ramasa,[3] 36. and Beis-Nimra and Beis-Haran – fortified cities and pens for flocks. 37. The children of Reuven built Cheshbon, El’alei and Kiryasayim, 38. and N’vo, and Baal-M’on – their names were changed – and Sivma. They called the names of the cities that they built by (their) names. 39. The children of Machir son of Menashe went to Gilad. They conquered it and drove out the Amorites who were in it. 40. Moshe gave Gilad to Machir son of Menashe, and he settled in it. 41. Yair son of Menashe went and conquered their villages, and he called them the villages of Yair.[4] 42. And Novach went and conquered K’nas and its villages.[5] He called it Novach, in his name.
