(יג) וַיֵּ֨צְא֜וּ מֹשֶׁ֨ה וְאֶלְעָזָ֧ר הַכֹּהֵ֛ן וְכׇל־נְשִׂיאֵ֥י הָעֵדָ֖ה לִקְרָאתָ֑ם אֶל־מִח֖וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ (יד) וַיִּקְצֹ֣ף מֹשֶׁ֔ה עַ֖ל פְּקוּדֵ֣י הֶחָ֑יִל שָׂרֵ֤י הָאֲלָפִים֙ וְשָׂרֵ֣י הַמֵּא֔וֹת הַבָּאִ֖ים מִצְּבָ֥א הַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ (טו) וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם מֹשֶׁ֑ה הַֽחִיִּיתֶ֖ם כׇּל־נְקֵבָֽה׃ (טז) הֵ֣ן הֵ֜נָּה הָי֨וּ לִבְנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ בִּדְבַ֣ר בִּלְעָ֔ם לִמְסׇר־מַ֥עַל בַּיהֹוָ֖ה עַל־דְּבַר־פְּע֑וֹר וַתְּהִ֥י הַמַּגֵּפָ֖ה בַּעֲדַ֥ת יְהֹוָֽה׃ (יז) וְעַתָּ֕ה הִרְג֥וּ כׇל־זָכָ֖ר בַּטָּ֑ף וְכׇל־אִשָּׁ֗ה יֹדַ֥עַת אִ֛ישׁ לְמִשְׁכַּ֥ב זָכָ֖ר הֲרֹֽגוּ׃ (יח) וְכֹל֙ הַטַּ֣ף בַּנָּשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־יָדְע֖וּ מִשְׁכַּ֣ב זָכָ֑ר הַחֲי֖וּ לָכֶֽם׃ (יט) וְאַתֶּ֗ם חֲנ֛וּ מִח֥וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֑ים כֹּל֩ הֹרֵ֨ג נֶ֜פֶשׁ וְכֹ֣ל ׀ נֹגֵ֣עַ בֶּֽחָלָ֗ל תִּֽתְחַטְּא֞וּ בַּיּ֤וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי֙ וּבַיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י אַתֶּ֖ם וּשְׁבִיכֶֽם׃ (כ) וְכׇל־בֶּ֧גֶד וְכׇל־כְּלִי־ע֛וֹר וְכׇל־מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה עִזִּ֖ים וְכׇל־כְּלִי־עֵ֑ץ תִּתְחַטָּֽאוּ׃ {ס}
(יג) וּנְפָקוּ משֶׁה וְאֶלְעָזָר כַּהֲנָא וְכָל רַבְרְבֵי כְנִשְׁתָּא לָקֳדָמוּתְהוֹן לְמִבָּרָא לְמַשְׁרִיתָא: (יד) וּרְגֵיז משֶׁה עַל דִּמְמַנָּן עַל חֵילָא רַבָּנֵי אַלְפִין וְרַבָּנֵי מָאֲוָתָא דַּאֲתוֹ מֵחֵיל קְרָבָא: (טו) וַאֲמַר לְהוֹן משֶׁה הֲקַיֵּמְתּוּן כָּל נוּקְבָּא: (טז) הָא אִנּוּן הֲוָאָה לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בַּעֲצַת בִּלְעָם לְשַׁקָּרָא שְׁקָר קֳדָם יְיָ עַל עֵסַק פְּעוֹר וַהֲוַת מוֹתָנָא בִּכְנִשְׁתָּא דַיְיָ: (יז) וּכְעַן קְטוּלוּ כָל דְּכוּרָא בְּטַפְלָא וְכָל אִתְּתָא דִּידַעַת גְּבַר לְמִשְׁכְּבֵי דְכוּרָא קְטוּלוּ: (יח) וְכֹל טַפְלָא בִנְשַׁיָּא דִּי לָא יְדָעָא מִשְׁכְּבֵי דְכוּרָא קַיְּימוּ לְכוֹן: (יט) וְאַתּוּן שְׁרוֹ מִבָּרָא לְמַשְׁרִיתָא שַׁבְעָא יוֹמִין כֹּל דִּי קְטַל נַפְשָׁא וְכֹל דִּי קְרַב בְּקָטִילָא תַּדּוּן עֲלוֹהִי בְּיוֹמָא תְלִיתָאָה וּבְיוֹמָא שְׁבִיעָאָה אַתּוּן וּשְׁבִיכוֹן: (כ) וְכָל לְבוּשׁ וְכָל מַאן דִּמְשַׁךְ וְכָל עוֹבַד מְעַזֵּי וְכָל מַאן דְּעָא תַּדּוּן עֲלוֹהִי:
13. Moshe, Elazar the priest, and all the leaders[1] of the congregation went out to greet them, to outside the camp. 14. Moshe became angry with the commanders of the army, the officers of thousands and the officers of hundreds, who came from fighting the war. 15. Moshe said to them, “Did you keep every female alive? 16. Behold, they’re the ones who were to the children of Israel at Balaam’s advice,[2] to act falsely[3] before Hashem in the matter of Peor, and the plague was upon Hashem’s congregation. 17. Now kill every male among the infants, and kill every woman who has known a man through lying with a male, 18. and every infant among the women who has not known lying with a male you shall keep alive for yourselves. 19. You shall camp outside the camp (for) seven days. Everyone who killed a person[4] and everyone who touched the slain shall sprinkle on him[5] on the third day and on the seventh day – you and your captives. 20. And every garment, every vessel of skin, everything made from goat(s’ hair) and every utensil of wood you shall sprinkle on it.”
(כא) וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֶלְעָזָ֤ר הַכֹּהֵן֙ אֶל־אַנְשֵׁ֣י הַצָּבָ֔א הַבָּאִ֖ים לַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה זֹ֚את חֻקַּ֣ת הַתּוֹרָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֥ה יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃ (כב) אַ֥ךְ אֶת־הַזָּהָ֖ב וְאֶת־הַכָּ֑סֶף אֶֽת־הַנְּחֹ֙שֶׁת֙ אֶת־הַבַּרְזֶ֔ל אֶֽת־הַבְּדִ֖יל וְאֶת־הָעֹפָֽרֶת׃ (כג) כׇּל־דָּבָ֞ר אֲשֶׁר־יָבֹ֣א בָאֵ֗שׁ תַּעֲבִ֤ירוּ בָאֵשׁ֙ וְטָהֵ֔ר אַ֕ךְ בְּמֵ֥י נִדָּ֖ה יִתְחַטָּ֑א וְכֹ֨ל אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹֽא־יָבֹ֛א בָּאֵ֖שׁ תַּעֲבִ֥ירוּ בַמָּֽיִם׃ (כד) וְכִבַּסְתֶּ֧ם בִּגְדֵיכֶ֛ם בַּיּ֥וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖י וּטְהַרְתֶּ֑ם וְאַחַ֖ר תָּבֹ֥אוּ אֶל־הַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ {ס}
(כא) וַאֲמַר אֶלְעָזָר כַּהֲנָא לְגַבְרֵי חֵילָא דַּאֲתוֹ לִקְרָבָא דָּא גְּזֵרַת אוֹרַיְתָא דִּי פַקִּיד יְיָ יָת משֶׁה: (כב) בְּרַם יָת דַּהֲבָא וְיָת כַּסְפָּא יָת נְחָשָׁא יָת פַּרְזְלָא יָת אֲבָצָא וְיָת אֲבָרָא: (כג) כָּל מִדַּעַם דְּמִתַּעַל בְּנוּרָא תַּעַבְרוּנֵּיהּ בְּנוּרָא וְיִדְכֵּי בְּרַם בְּמֵי אַדָּיוּתָא יִתַּדֵּי וְכֹל דִּי לָא מִתַּעַל בְּנוּרָא תַּעַבְרֻנֵּיהּ בְּמַיָּא: (כד) וּתְחַוְּרוּן לְבוּשֵׁיכוֹן בְּיוֹמָא שְׁבִיעָאָה וְתִדְכּוּן וּבָתַר כֵּן תֵּעֲלוּן לְמַשְׁרִיתָא:
21. Elazar the priest said to the men of the army who came to war, “This is the decree[6] of the Torah that Hashem has commanded Moshe: 22. Only the gold and the silver, the copper, the iron, the tin and the lead – 23. any object that is brought[7] into fire, you shall pass it through fire and it will be pure, except that it must be sprinkled with the sprinkling water, and everything that is not brought into fire, you shall pass it through water. 24. You shall wash your clothes on the seventh day and be pure, and afterwards you may come to the camp.”
