(ז) וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ (ח) קַ֣ח אֶת־הַמַּטֶּ֗ה וְהַקְהֵ֤ל אֶת־הָעֵדָה֙ אַתָּה֙ וְאַהֲרֹ֣ן אָחִ֔יךָ וְדִבַּרְתֶּ֧ם אֶל־הַסֶּ֛לַע לְעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם וְנָתַ֣ן מֵימָ֑יו וְהוֹצֵאתָ֨ לָהֶ֥ם מַ֙יִם֙ מִן־הַסֶּ֔לַע וְהִשְׁקִיתָ֥ אֶת־הָעֵדָ֖ה וְאֶת־בְּעִירָֽם׃ (ט) וַיִּקַּ֥ח מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־הַמַּטֶּ֖ה מִלִּפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר צִוָּֽהוּ׃ (י) וַיַּקְהִ֜לוּ מֹשֶׁ֧ה וְאַהֲרֹ֛ן אֶת־הַקָּהָ֖ל אֶל־פְּנֵ֣י הַסָּ֑לַע וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָהֶ֗ם שִׁמְעוּ־נָא֙ הַמֹּרִ֔ים הֲמִן־הַסֶּ֣לַע הַזֶּ֔ה נוֹצִ֥יא לָכֶ֖ם מָֽיִם׃ (יא) וַיָּ֨רֶם מֹשֶׁ֜ה אֶת־יָד֗וֹ וַיַּ֧ךְ אֶת־הַסֶּ֛לַע בְּמַטֵּ֖הוּ פַּעֲמָ֑יִם וַיֵּצְאוּ֙ מַ֣יִם רַבִּ֔ים וַתֵּ֥שְׁתְּ הָעֵדָ֖ה וּבְעִירָֽם׃ {ס}
(ז) וּמַלִּיל יְיָ עִם משֶׁה לְמֵימָר: (ח) סַב יָת חוּטְרָא וְאַכְנֵשׁ יָת כְּנִשְׁתָּא אַתְּ וְאַהֲרֹן אָחוּךְ וּתְמַלְּלוּן עִם כֵּיפָא לְעֵינֵיהוֹן וְיִתֵּן מוֹהִי וְתַפֵּק לְהוֹן מַיָּא מִן כֵּיפָא וְתַשְׁקֵי יָת כְּנִשְׁתָּא וְיָת בְּעִירְהוֹן: (ט) וּנְסִיב משֶׁה יָת חוּטְרָא מִן קֳדָם יְיָ כְּמָא דִי פַּקְּדֵיהּ: (י) וְאַכְנִישׁוּ משֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן יָת קְהָלָא לָקֳדָם כֵּיפָא וַאֲמַר לְהוֹן שְׁמָעוּ כְעַן סַרְבָנַיָּא הֲמִן כֵּיפָא הָדֵין נַפֵּק לְכוֹן מַיָּא: (יא) וַאֲרֵם משֶׁה יָת יְדֵיהּ וּמְחָא יָת כֵּיפָא בְּחוּטְרֵיהּ תַּרְתֵּין זִמְנִין וּנְפָקוּ מַיָּא סַגִּיאֵי וּשְׁתִיאַת כְּנִשְׁתָּא וּבְעִירְהוֹן:
7. Hashem spoke with Moshe, saying, 8. “Take the staff and assemble the congregation – you and Aharon, your brother. Speak with the rock in their sight and it will give its water. You will bring out for them water from the rock and cause the congregation and their livestock to drink.” 9. Moshe took the rod from before Hashem, as he had been commanded. 10. Moshe and Aharon assembled the community in front of the rock. He said to them, “Listen up,[1] rebels! Shall we bring out water for you from this rock?” 11. Moshe raised his hand and he struck the rock with his rod twice. Plentiful water came out and the congregation and their livestock drank.
(יב) וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהֹוָה֮ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֣ה וְאֶֽל־אַהֲרֹן֒ יַ֚עַן לֹא־הֶאֱמַנְתֶּ֣ם בִּ֔י לְהַ֨קְדִּישֵׁ֔נִי לְעֵינֵ֖י בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לָכֵ֗ן לֹ֤א תָבִ֙יאוּ֙ אֶת־הַקָּהָ֣ל הַזֶּ֔ה אֶל־הָאָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־נָתַ֥תִּי לָהֶֽם׃ (יג) הֵ֚מָּה מֵ֣י מְרִיבָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־רָב֥וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֶת־יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיִּקָּדֵ֖שׁ בָּֽם׃ {ס}
(יב) וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְמשֶׁה וּלְאַהֲרֹן חֲלַף דִּי לָא הֵמַנְתּוּן בְּמֵימְרִי לְקַדָּשׁוּתִי לְעֵינֵי בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּכֵן לָא תַעֲלוּן יָת קְהָלָא הָדֵין לְאַרְעָא דִּי יְהָבִית לְהוֹן: (יג) אִנּוּן מֵי מַצּוּתָא דִּי נְצוֹ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל קֳדָם יְיָ וְאִתְקַדַּשׁ בְּהוֹן:
12. Hashem said to Moshe and to Aharon, “Since you did not believe in My word to sanctify Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this community into the land that I gave them.” 13. Those are the waters of dispute,[2] that the children of Israel argued before Hashem and He was sanctified through them.
