2,901. Making a Nazirite Vow in a Cemetery
Hilchos Nezirus 6:8
If someone makes a nazirite vow in a cemetery, the vow is effective. If he stays there for several days, they don’t count towards his nezirus. He’s liable to lashes for staying in the cemetery. If he was warned not to make his vow there, he doesn’t shave when he leaves. If, while in the cemetery, he was rendered unclean in a manner that would require a nazir to shave, he neither shaves nor bring an impurity offering (because he was already unclean from the cemetery when he made his vow).
Hilchos Nezirus 6:9
Let’s say that someone was brought into a cemetery in a closed box or chest. He made a nazirite vow there, and then someone else opened the box, rendering him unclean. In such a case, he’s not liable to lashes even if he remains there, though he is given stripes for acting rebelliously if he stays.
