(לט) וְכִֽי־יָמ֥וּךְ אָחִ֛יךָ עִמָּ֖ךְ וְנִמְכַּר־לָ֑ךְ לֹא־תַעֲבֹ֥ד בּ֖וֹ עֲבֹ֥דַת עָֽבֶד׃ (מ) כְּשָׂכִ֥יר כְּתוֹשָׁ֖ב יִהְיֶ֣ה עִמָּ֑ךְ עַד־שְׁנַ֥ת הַיֹּבֵ֖ל יַעֲבֹ֥ד עִמָּֽךְ׃ (מא) וְיָצָא֙ מֵֽעִמָּ֔ךְ ה֖וּא וּבָנָ֣יו עִמּ֑וֹ וְשָׁב֙ אֶל־מִשְׁפַּחְתּ֔וֹ וְאֶל־אֲחֻזַּ֥ת אֲבֹתָ֖יו יָשֽׁוּב׃ (מב) כִּֽי־עֲבָדַ֣י הֵ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־הוֹצֵ֥אתִי אֹתָ֖ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם לֹ֥א יִמָּכְר֖וּ מִמְכֶּ֥רֶת עָֽבֶד׃ (מג) לֹא־תִרְדֶּ֥ה ב֖וֹ בְּפָ֑רֶךְ וְיָרֵ֖אתָ מֵאֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃ (מד) וְעַבְדְּךָ֥ וַאֲמָתְךָ֖ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִהְיוּ־לָ֑ךְ מֵאֵ֣ת הַגּוֹיִ֗ם אֲשֶׁר֙ סְבִיבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם מֵהֶ֥ם תִּקְנ֖וּ עֶ֥בֶד וְאָמָֽה׃ (מה) וְ֠גַ֠ם מִבְּנֵ֨י הַתּוֹשָׁבִ֜ים הַגָּרִ֤ים עִמָּכֶם֙ מֵהֶ֣ם תִּקְנ֔וּ וּמִמִּשְׁפַּחְתָּם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עִמָּכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר הוֹלִ֖ידוּ בְּאַרְצְכֶ֑ם וְהָי֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם לַֽאֲחֻזָּֽה׃ (מו) וְהִתְנַחַלְתֶּ֨ם אֹתָ֜ם לִבְנֵיכֶ֤ם אַחֲרֵיכֶם֙ לָרֶ֣שֶׁת אֲחֻזָּ֔ה לְעֹלָ֖ם בָּהֶ֣ם תַּעֲבֹ֑דוּ וּבְאַ֨חֵיכֶ֤ם בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אִ֣ישׁ בְּאָחִ֔יו לֹא־תִרְדֶּ֥ה ב֖וֹ בְּפָֽרֶךְ׃ {ס}
(לט) וַאֲרֵי יִתְמַסְכַּן אָחוּךְ עִמָּךְ וְיִזְדַּבַּן לָךְ לָא תִפְלַח בֵּיהּ פָּלְחַן עַבְדִּין: (מ) כַּאֲגִירָא כְתוֹתָבָא יְהֵי עִמָּךְ עַד שַׁתָּא דְיוֹבֵלָא יִפְלַח עִמָּךְ: (מא) וְיִפּוֹק מֵעִמָּךְ הוּא וּבְנוֹהִי עִמֵּיהּ וִיתוּב לְזַרְעִיתֵיהּ וּלְאַחֲסָנַת אֲבָהָתוֹהִי יְתוּב: (מב) אֲרֵי עַבְדַּי אִנּוּן דִּי אַפֵּקִית יָתְהוֹן מֵאַרְעָא דְמִצְרָיִם לָא יִזְדַּבְּנוּן זְבוּן עַבְדִּין: (מג) לָא תִפְלַח בֵּיהּ בְּקַשְׁיוּ וְתִדְחַל מֵאֱלָהָךְ: (מד) וְעַבְדָּךְ וְאַמְתָךְ דִּי יְהוֹן לָךְ מִן עַמְמַיָּא דִּי בְסַחֲרָנֵיכוֹן מִנְּהוֹן תִּקְנוּן עַבְדִּין וְאַמְהָן: (מה) וְאַף מִבְּנֵי תוֹתָבַיָּא עָרְלַיָּא דְּדָיְרִין עִמְּכוֹן מִנְּהוֹן תִּקְנוּן וּמִזַּרְעִיתְהוֹן דְּעִמְּכוֹן דִּי אִתְיְלִידוּ בְּאַרְעֲכוֹן וִיהוֹן לְכוֹן לְאַחֲסָנָא: (מו) וְתַחְסְנוּן יָתְהוֹן לִבְנֵיכוֹן בַּתְרֵיכוֹן לִירוּתַת אַחֲסָנָא לְעָלָם בְּהוֹן תִּפְלְחוּן וּבְאַחֵיכוֹן בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל גְּבַר בַּאֲחוּהִי לָא תִפְלַח בֵּיהּ בְּקַשְׁיוּ:
39. If your brother becomes poor with you, and is sold to you, do not work him (with) the labor of slaves.[1] 40. Like a hired worker, like a resident, he shall be with you; until the jubilee year he shall work with you. 41. He shall go out from you, he and his children with him, and return to his family, and to the possession of his fathers he will return. 42. Because they are My servants, that I brought them out from the land of Egypt; they may not be sold the sale of slaves. 43. Do not work him[2] harshly; fear from your God. 44. Your male servants and your female servants that will be to you from the nations that are around you, from them you shall acquire[3] male servants and female servants. 45. And also from the children of the uncircumcised residents[4] who dwell with you, from them you may acquire, and from their families that are with you who were born[5] in your land, they will be a possession to you. 46. You may bequeath[6] them as an inheritance for your children after you to inherit (as) a possession; them you may work. And of your brothers, the children of Israel, a man shall not work his brother harshly.
