Chapter 25
(א) וַיְדַבֵּ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה בְּהַ֥ר סִינַ֖י לֵאמֹֽר׃ (ב) דַּבֵּ֞ר אֶל־בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵהֶ֔ם כִּ֤י תָבֹ֙אוּ֙ אֶל־הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲנִ֖י נֹתֵ֣ן לָכֶ֑ם וְשָׁבְתָ֣ה הָאָ֔רֶץ שַׁבָּ֖ת לַיהֹוָֽה׃ (ג) שֵׁ֤שׁ שָׁנִים֙ תִּזְרַ֣ע שָׂדֶ֔ךָ וְשֵׁ֥שׁ שָׁנִ֖ים תִּזְמֹ֣ר כַּרְמֶ֑ךָ וְאָסַפְתָּ֖ אֶת־תְּבוּאָתָֽהּ׃ (ד) וּבַשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗ת שַׁבַּ֤ת שַׁבָּתוֹן֙ יִהְיֶ֣ה לָאָ֔רֶץ שַׁבָּ֖ת לַיהֹוָ֑ה שָֽׂדְךָ֙ לֹ֣א תִזְרָ֔ע וְכַרְמְךָ֖ לֹ֥א תִזְמֹֽר׃ (ה) אֵ֣ת סְפִ֤יחַ קְצִֽירְךָ֙ לֹ֣א תִקְצ֔וֹר וְאֶת־עִנְּבֵ֥י נְזִירֶ֖ךָ לֹ֣א תִבְצֹ֑ר שְׁנַ֥ת שַׁבָּת֖וֹן יִהְיֶ֥ה לָאָֽרֶץ׃ (ו) וְ֠הָיְתָ֠ה שַׁבַּ֨ת הָאָ֤רֶץ לָכֶם֙ לְאׇכְלָ֔ה לְךָ֖ וּלְעַבְדְּךָ֣ וְלַאֲמָתֶ֑ךָ וְלִשְׂכִֽירְךָ֙ וּלְתוֹשָׁ֣בְךָ֔ הַגָּרִ֖ים עִמָּֽךְ׃ (ז) וְלִ֨בְהֶמְתְּךָ֔ וְלַֽחַיָּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּאַרְצֶ֑ךָ תִּהְיֶ֥ה כׇל־תְּבוּאָתָ֖הּ לֶאֱכֹֽל׃ {ס}
(א) וּמַלִּיל יְיָ עִם משֶׁה בְּטוּרָא דְסִינַי לְמֵימָר: (ב) מַלֵּיל עִם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְתֵימַר לְהוֹן אֲרֵי תֵעֲלוּן לְאַרְעָא דִּי אֲנָא יָהֵב לְכוֹן וְתַשְׁמֵט אַרְעָא שְׁמִטְּתָא קֳדָם יְיָ: (ג) שִׁית שְׁנִין תִּזְרַע חַקְלָךְ וְשִׁית שְׁנִין תִּכְסַח כַּרְמָךְ וְתִכְנוֹשׁ יָת עֲלַלְתַּהּ: (ד) וּבְשַׁתָּא שְׁבִיעֲתָא נְיַח שְׁמִטְּתָא יְהֵי לְאַרְעָא דְּתַשְׁמֵט קֳדָם יְיָ חַקְלָךְ לָא תִזְרַע וְכַרְמָךְ לָא תִכְסָח: (ה) יָת כַּתֵּי דַחֲצָדָךְ לָא תֶחֱצַד וְיָת עִנְּבֵי שִׁבְקָךְ לָא תִקְטוֹף שְׁנַת שְׁמִטְּתָא יְהֵי לְאַרְעָא: (ו) וּתְהֵי שְׁמִטַּת אַרְעָא לְכוֹן לְמֵיכַל לָךְ וּלְעַבְדָּךְ וּלְאַמְתָךְ וְלַאֲגִירָךְ וּלְתוֹתָבָךְ דְּדָיְרִין עִמָּךְ: (ז) וְלִבְעִירָךְ וּלְחַיְתָא דִּי בְאַרְעָךְ תְּהֵי כָל עֲלַלְתַּהּ לְמֵיכָל:
1. Hashem spoke with Moshe on Mount Sinai, saying: 2. Speak with the children of Israel and say to them: When you come to the land that I give to you, the land shall release (its produce),[1] a release[2] before Hashem. 3. Six years you shall plant your field and six years you shall prune your vineyard and you shall gather its crop. 4. And in the seventh year it shall be a sabbath of release rest for the land, a release before Hashem. You shall not plant your field and you shall not prune your vineyard. 5. The aftergrowth of your harvest you shall not reap and the grapes of your abandoning[3] you shall not gather. It shall be a year of release for the land. 6. It shall be a release of the land to you for food – for you, and for your servant man, and for your servant woman, and for your hired laborer and for your resident who dwell with you, 7. and for your cattle, and for the wild animals that are in your land, all of its crop will be for food.
(ח) וְסָפַרְתָּ֣ לְךָ֗ שֶׁ֚בַע שַׁבְּתֹ֣ת שָׁנִ֔ים שֶׁ֥בַע שָׁנִ֖ים שֶׁ֣בַע פְּעָמִ֑ים וְהָי֣וּ לְךָ֗ יְמֵי֙ שֶׁ֚בַע שַׁבְּתֹ֣ת הַשָּׁנִ֔ים תֵּ֥שַׁע וְאַרְבָּעִ֖ים שָׁנָֽה׃ (ט) וְהַֽעֲבַרְתָּ֞ שׁוֹפַ֤ר תְּרוּעָה֙ בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִעִ֔י בֶּעָשׂ֖וֹר לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ בְּיוֹם֙ הַכִּפֻּרִ֔ים תַּעֲבִ֥ירוּ שׁוֹפָ֖ר בְּכׇל־אַרְצְכֶֽם׃ (י) וְקִדַּשְׁתֶּ֗ם אֵ֣ת שְׁנַ֤ת הַחֲמִשִּׁים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּקְרָאתֶ֥ם דְּר֛וֹר בָּאָ֖רֶץ לְכׇל־יֹשְׁבֶ֑יהָ יוֹבֵ֥ל הִוא֙ תִּהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֔ם וְשַׁבְתֶּ֗ם אִ֚ישׁ אֶל־אֲחֻזָּת֔וֹ וְאִ֥ישׁ אֶל־מִשְׁפַּחְתּ֖וֹ תָּשֻֽׁבוּ׃ (יא) יוֹבֵ֣ל הִ֗וא שְׁנַ֛ת הַחֲמִשִּׁ֥ים שָׁנָ֖ה תִּהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֑ם לֹ֣א תִזְרָ֔עוּ וְלֹ֤א תִקְצְרוּ֙ אֶת־סְפִיחֶ֔יהָ וְלֹ֥א תִבְצְר֖וּ אֶת־נְזִרֶֽיהָ׃ (יב) כִּ֚י יוֹבֵ֣ל הִ֔וא קֹ֖דֶשׁ תִּהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֑ם מִ֨ן־הַשָּׂדֶ֔ה תֹּאכְל֖וּ אֶת־תְּבוּאָתָֽהּ׃ (יג) בִּשְׁנַ֥ת הַיּוֹבֵ֖ל הַזֹּ֑את תָּשֻׁ֕בוּ אִ֖ישׁ אֶל־אֲחֻזָּתֽוֹ׃
(ח) וְתִמְנֵי לָךְ שְׁבַע שְׁמִטִּין דִּשְׁנִין שְׁבַע שְׁנִין שְׁבַע זִמְנִין וִיהוֹן לָךְ יוֹמֵי שְׁבַע שְׁמִטִּין דִּשְׁנִין אַרְבְּעִין וְתֵשַׁע שְׁנִין: (ט) וְתַעֲבַר שׁוֹפַר יַבָּבָא בְּיַרְחָא שְׁבִיעָאָה בְּעַשְׂרָא לְיַרְחָא בְּיוֹמָא דְכִפּוּרַיָּא תַּעַבְּרוּן שׁוֹפָרָא בְּכָל אַרְעֲכוֹן: (י) וּתְקַדְּשׁוּן יָת שְׁנַת חַמְשִׁין שְׁנִין וְתַקְרוּן חֵרוּתָא בְּאַרְעָא לְכָל יָתְבָהָא יוֹבֵלָא הִיא תְּהֵי לְכוֹן וּתְתוּבוּן גְּבַר לְאַחֲסַנְתֵּיהּ וּגְבַר לְזַרְעִיתֵיהּ תְּתוּבוּן: (יא) יוֹבֵלָא הִיא שְׁנַת חַמְשִׁין שְׁנִין תְּהֵי לְכוֹן לָא תִזְרְעוּן וְלָא תַחְצְדוּן יָת כַּתָּהָא וְלָא תִקְטְפוּן יָת שִׁבְקָהָא: (יב) אֲרֵי יוֹבֵלָא הִיא קוּדְשָׁא תְהֵי לְכוֹן מִן חַקְלָא תֵּיכְלוּן יָת עֲלַלְתַּהּ: (יג) בְּשַׁתָּא דְיוֹבֵלָא הָדָא תְּתוּבוּן גְּבַר לְאַחֲסַנְתֵּיהּ:
8. You shall count for yourself seven release years[4] – seven years seven times. The days of the seven release years will be to you 49 years. 9. You shall sound the shofar sobbing;[5] in the seventh month, on the tenth of the month, on the Day of Atonements, you shall sound the shofar throughout your land. 10. You shall sanctify the fiftieth year. You shall proclaim liberty in the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you: a person shall return to his possession[6] and a person shall return to his family. 11. The fiftieth year shall be a jubilee for you: do not plant and do not reap the aftergrowth, and do not harvest the abandoned, 12. because it is a jubilee. It shall be holy to you; from the field you shall eat its crop. 13. In this jubilee year each person shall return to his possession.
