2,854. A Nazir From Figs?

Hilchos Nezirus 1:10

If a person declares himself to be a nazir from dried figs, from cakes of figs, etc., he is prohibited the thing of which he spoke, but he is not rendered a nazir.

Hilchos Nezirus 1:11

Let’s say that a cup of wine was prepared for someone and given to him to drink. If he says, “I am a nazir from it,” he is a nazir in all ways. If he was moody, angry or in mourning and the one offering him the cup was merely trying to relieve his pressure and he declares himself to be a nazir from the cup, he is prohibited that cup alone and is not rendered a nazir. This is because his intention was only not to drink that cup.
