2,853. A Vow to Be a Partial Nazir

Hilchos Nezirus 1:8

Any term used for nazirite status is the same as “nazir.” Therefore, in places where people mispronounce words, if one declares himself a nazik, a naziach or a paziach, he is rendered a nazir.

Hilchos Nezirus 1:9

If a person declares himself a nazir only vis-à-vis grape seeds or grape skins, or only as far as shaving, or only as far as ritual impurity, he is a nazir in all ways and he must observe all the laws that are unique to a nazir even though he only intended to prohibit himself one particular thing. Since the thing about which he took the vow is prohibited to a nazir, he is rendered a nazir in every way.
