2,850. Violating and Fulfilling the Terms of Nezirus
Hilchos Nezirus 1:2
If a nazir violates the law and cuts his hair, renders himself unclean through a corpse, or eats grape products, he is lashed twice – once for the prohibition against desecrating one’s word (Num. 30:3), as with any vow, and once for violating a prohibition that is unique to a nazir.
Hilchos Nezirus 1:3
If someone takes a nazirite vow and fulfills it properly, he has performed three mitzvos: acting according to the utterance of his mouth (Num. 30:3), letting the growth of his hair grow (Num. 6:5), and shaving when bringing his offerings, as per Numbers 6:18, “The nazir shall shave at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.”
