861. Erev Tisha b'Av

123:1 If a bris (circumcision) or pidyon haben (redemption of a first-born son) falls on the day before Tisha b'Av, the meal is held before midday.

123:2 One should not take a pleasure trip on the day before Tisha b'Av. The practice after midday is to study only those topics that one may study on Tisha b'Av itself. (Most authorities permit normal Torah study on erev Tisha b'Av - see Mishnah Brurah 553:8.)
