The Talmud in Brachos (4b) tells us that one who recites Psalm 145 three times a day secures for himself a place in the Next World. Why is this? First the gemara says it’s because the Psalm is an alphabetical acrostic, focusing our attention on G-d’s goodness “from A to Z,” as it were. But then let us say Psalm 119, which goes through the entire alphabet eight times! Next the gemara suggests that it’s because verse 145:16 describes how G-d feeds all of His creations. But Psalm 136 also contains such a descriptor! Rather, the gemara concludes that the reason Psalm 145 is so important is that it is the only Psalm that contains both of these attributes.
